We're not staying near the Pageant but we got a hotel in Westport - Maryland Heights and a car from the 15th - 18th for $177 via Hotwire. The car alone was $49 including taxes and fees. The room was $36 a night and $127 total including taxes and fees. I got a car since it was cheap as hell and we wanted to see Cahokia Mounds and maybe a little Route 66.

I wonder about my body jewelry every time I fly and they run that wand over me. I have 6 pieces. There has never been problem though. I can't even remember a beep. This story is crazy and the TSA was over the line here. I feel for that women. Lawsuit!

I first saw him back in 1990 (if that was the date of the 20th anniversary of earth Day...). Me and a couple pals drove up to DC to catch the free show at the Mall. Billy Bragg, Stipe, 10,000 Maniacs, Indigo Girls... Damn, now I'm remembering some cool music that day. I've never done it either. I think his songs from the Mermaid sessions match up well. I like Billy Bragg. His 3 cd 'Must I Paint You A Picture?' is a fine retrospective. Highly recommended.

The first 2 nights of the Residency were supposed to be my wife's surprise birthday. But I was 'somehow' - broker bastards - shut out. The Charleston show was going to be her '2nd best' gift. We all know what happened with that and my feelings toward it!1 I got us tickets to both the 15th and 16th Pageant shows. If my good fortune holds and I can swing 2 for Saturday, the whole unpleasantness will be a distant memory. My God, I so enjoy seeing this band live and Tweedy solo. I hope to meet some of you.

You can't download the roadcase shows from wilcoworld. You can certainly find folks with copies of those particular shows, though.
