maybe we could get together next week and put together a power point presentation about germs and stuff to show at one of the next big get-togethers.

i thought this was a thread for folks who post over a gig of stuff every day. I'm looking at you, pookie.

Dear Poor Sick People: I am curious how many of you got flu shots and still got sick and how many didn't get flu shots and got sick. Is there anyway to chart this on a graph or something? oh and how many folks went to all five nights of the germy residency, stayed out on the line for hours and yet didn't get sick. Maybe there should be a poll...

I'm not in HR or a lawyer but i'll go out on a limb here and say that they want to ensure that there's no different standard applied to this person, so everyone who is a manager (or has keys) has to comply with this policy. What is wrong with it is that there was no advanced warning and no explanation of why the policy has changed. I suppose it is possible that they really don't want this new hire to be a manager so they are making it difficult by creating these stumbling blocks of a background check?

Dear Mr. Smarty Pants. We saw Wilco Live at the 930, with Ction and Ms Yvon in Feb of 2005. Now, stop picking on the poor southerners. You know how little they have to look forward to. Let them wallow. -
i smell a class action suit in this thread. It smells a little like cough drops and Kleenex w/ Vicks, but still...

Caliber said the venue has a box office, and we can get tix there, but there is still a $3.50 service charge to PICK UP THE TICKETS AT THE VENUE. I still don't get it. Just charge $28.50 and call it even. WTF is up with service charges? What the hell is the ticket price if the "service charge" is something else? I'm all for little surcharges for building restoration and even taxes (this venue is in a town that has a .50 tax on all tickets) but a more than 10% additional charge at the venue's ticket counter for no apparent reason i just do not get. Anyone who works at a venue want to explain t

I'm not complaining about the ticket price to see the band, i'm complaining about ticketmaster's convenience charge! I am hoping that the venue in VA has its own box office and i can get tickets there without having to go through Ticketbastard. But when you're hitting a service charge of 30-40%, it seems a little like usury. or extortion.

well, to be fair, all those folks from the 5 night residency also either have SARS or the plague. -

This has got to be a huge suck fest for people who have paid for airfare and hotel rooms, and for those people I am truly sorry and frankly they deserve to do all the whining they want. But, with this date change, maybe caliber and i can make a road trip. -
Ok, so i go online and see that there is a new tour and get all excited. http://www.theavettbrothers.com/site.php?content=tour I go to buy tickets and this is what i see: Type 2 ADULT Ticket Price US $25.00 x 2 Convenience Charge US $7.45 x 2 Building Facility Charge US $1.50 x 2 now, mind you, these are will call tickets only, GA, and the convenience (Ha!) charge is ...what? 30% of the ticket price? I know that there is perennial complaining about ticketbastard, but this is just unacceptable. Needless to say, i refuse to buy the tickets. I am sure i'm the only loser in this situ

It is time to elect the world leader, and yours is the deciding vote. Here are the facts about the three leading candidates: * Candidate A: He associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologers. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks up to ten Martinis a day. * Candidate B: He was ejected from office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a large amounts of whisky every evening. * Candidate C: He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and hasn't had any extra-marital affairs.

AMEN! also keeps other people from getting sick in your office/class which ends up mutating the virus making it harder to kick the next time. i have had a headache now for 4 days. I am sure it is sinuses. I have tried neti pot, sudafed, advil, rhinocort, heat, cold and nothing works. next up is going to be a drill in my eye to release the pressure.

Promise the people you've invited that you'll never invite them to another one of these things if they come. If they don't come you'll give their name to your annoying "consultant" who will then try to harass them into the pyramid scheme. PS i would much rather go to Pampered Chef, or Tupperware than stinky candle party. I already have a headache just thinking about all the smells.
