Wilmington isn't that far from Philly--definitely less than an hour. I drove down from upstate NY for the Wilmington show last summer, and had the weather cooperated, it would've taken me only about 15 minutes longer than it does to get to Philly. I'm not sure it's certain that they're skipping Philly yet, though the Wilmington show does make it seem less likely. The thing is, Philly doesn't have enough smallish outdoor venues. The Mann Center is probably still a little big for them, and it may be easier logistically for them to play all outdoor shows (maybe not, given the shows announced so f

It may depend on when you order it. It's less than a week before the release, which makes priority shipping necessary to get it to you on the release date. If you don't want to pay through the nose (or another body part of your choice) to get a new release right away, try ordering earlier next time.

Oh god, please not the Electric Factory. That's one of the worst places I've ever seen a show. It's a cinderblock shoebox, and the sound is horrible. There aren't really many small outdoor venues in Philly, are there?

No Wilco there, either. I did that the other day With the new album coming out, my guess is that they'll tour pretty much all summer. There's no way the east coast is going to have to wait until the end of the year for them to come back.

So far only Tom Jones, Gordon Lightfoot, Joan Baez, and B.B. King listed. It appears IHEG no longer books the shows there, since the Pines is no longer listed on their website. Hopefully that's not their full lineup for the summer!

I'm guessing they'll announce the rest of the summer dates within the next few weeks. There's no doubt they're going to be on the road for most of the summer, since the album will be coming out, and they always play plenty of east coast shows. I'm looking forward to some cool amphitheaters and other outdoor venues.

I stayed at the Hilton this summer when I was in town to see Nels play. I have no idea how close it is to the theater, but it's an easy walk (around 10 minutes) from some restaurants and bars. I got a really good deal on a room, either via AAA or hotels.com. I think with tax it was around $110 or so. It was nice, clean, well-lit at night, and had a reasonable price for parking and friendly staff. Is that major construction project still going on? I-40 was a mess right around the exit for downtown when I was there. It got really confusing.
