that reminds me of a story my dad used to tell about when he was a kid and the beatles were in town. his parents were anti-rock and roll and wouldn't let him got the concert, but he could hear it faintly from his bedroom, so he went to bed and listened to the concert until he fell asleep

that was my first time seeing them. such a wonderful show. (not to rub it in). i didn't realize i missed out on meeting some vc-ers

does anybody really use the grammys as a barometer for what's good? like everybody else, i'm glad when bands i like get a nod, because i think they should get more appreciation, but i certainly don't look at the grammys as being a source of good judgement when it comes to quality music. every once and a while they get a few awards right in my eyes, but mostly it's a celebration of music i wouldn't even use to torture somebody.

i think i would have had a breakdown if i'd been alive for this. it tears me up enough just to think about it. when george died i bawled and had to excuse myself from my h.s. english class...... i've been listening to tons of beatles stuff the last few days and it really wipes me out to think how much more music he could have made over the last 27 years
