Start with "Hey, it's me, that one that always says something inappropriate." Worst case scenario, he says "What?" and you can explain every time you've met before you acted like a self-proclaimed "babbling idiot." Boom. Icebreaker. Friends for life. Invite me to your joint birthday party.

This is a very articulate and accurate post and anyone who just skims over it deserves a kick. If there's anything I've witnessed in my profound years of lurking and eventual membership on this site, is the inexplicable connection this sentiment seems to have among Wilco fans. There's this eventuality of sorts, that while you may not love everything immediately, there's a time in the future where you will "get it." I mean, everyone who still hates SBS will probably disagree with me, but I've seen it happen so many times it's hard to think of it as anything but inevitable. With that, I'll sa

I named a cat Christopher Walken. That's pretty close.

yes, but with guitar squiggles. i don't mean for that to sound as condescending as it does.

Thank you, thank you thank you thank you. To me, these tunes sound like a perfect blend between SBS and AGIB, which, for me, is absolutely wonderful.

EH Holy Grail. Hands down. The "flurb" is kinda useless, but the Spring and Hall settings are fantastic, and you won't find something better for the money. At least, that's my opinion.

Haha, only my shirt is in my picture as well. So is my girlfriend's, actually. How much of a nerd does it make me that we actually took those specific shirts to Mexico, just so we could enter this bloody contest?
-
Just submitted mine too! I don't even care if I win, I'm just happy to be able to enter this year. I've been saving this bad-boy since March. No, really. I'm that sad.

BARACK THIS TOWN, BARACK IT INSIDE OUT

I'm going to write Wilco and demand they "make it up to me" for my front row center tickets being bumped back sixteen rows just days before the show last summer. I'm thinking "record an album with me" will probably do it, though I am pretty insatiable when it comes to demanding satisfaction. Maybe "give me all your gear" as well. That seems fair, no?

IS THE THE MOVIE THAT HAS WILCO SONGS IN IT

While we're on the topic, has anyone tried the D'addario pure nickels? I just picked them up the other day but haven't had the chance to strap them on yet.

Have you ever noticed how you never see Jeff and Colin Powell in the same room at the same time? I'm just saying. Think about it. ..

I suggest we all make bird noises for Summerteeth. And oooooohs. But bird noises. Wait, never mind. That's a stupid idea.

Does this mean the original pressing is going to be hard for me to find? Because I only fixed my turntable a few months ago and snatched up Ghost and SBS... don't want to get ruined. Oh man. Vinyl outlets in Canada hate Wilco. Or me. Probably me. Goddammit.

Oh, oh, I see what you did there.

Hey all you savvy VC'rs, I used to work as Editor in Chief for my University paper-- best year of my life, all that. Anyway, when my contract finished up at the end of April, all my staff chipped in and bought me a nice burgundy Epiphone LP Special, and everyone autographed it all beautiful like in gold pen. Now, I'm planning on swapping out the tuners and the P'ups, but my real concern is the finish. I want to actually play this bastard at gigs (especially ones they show up at, despite the fact that it's obviously just supposed to be a decoration) but I don't want to wear everyone's Hancock

I've made my Mom a couple comps, which she keeps wearing out and demanding new ones. She'll do things like stay up to try and watch them on SNL, but fall asleep before they play. We watched the ACL episode together when I happened to be home for the weekend. Good times. I'm still trying to sell her on Refused. That one's a little more difficult.

The only reason I have mine is because my house was broken into. The insurance company paid off more than generously, but the number of items that disappeared simply weren't worth replacing. Then, boom, sweet deal via musician's friend. A series of strange circumstances, but ultimately a nice result.

I've been tooling around with the Wave. That's the next one up. Synth wise, unless you're looking to drop $10,000, I don't understand why everyone in the world doesn't own one of these things. I don't know if it's just me, but it's absolutely spectacular.

As a self-confessed huge idiot poetry nerd, I'm also continually blown away by Adult Head, even with the fragments that eventually became lyrics. There's a real sheen on a lot of the pieces that continually seems fresh despite many re-reads. Ugh, so good.
