  1. I don't not want to hear Walken because I don't have kids, I don't want to hear it because it sucks
  2. From the official Stone Temple Pilots message board around 2002 or so. There was a guy on there who had a long running "download of the week" thread and it was always more obscure indie type stuff to get people to branch out a little bit. He put up something but I forget what it was but I kept listening to other tracks, found Being There, game over.
  3. I knew I should have just driven to Austin instead of Dallas.
  4. I'm not talking about the experience of everyone else, I'm talking about mine. I wouldn't care if the entire venue shared a differing opinion because mine is the only experience relevant to a post about...my experience at the show. My whole section sat, the rest of the venue stood. Have you read my other posts? I did move, and did talk to an usher. I had a good time. The first two pages of this thread is full of people saying the crowd sucked, so don't sit here and talk like I have some unique situation that went unnoticed by everyone else just because you saw some people fawning over th
  5. The band was just fine, the crowd was atrocious. My section, specifically. We had trash thrown at us and obscenities yelled for standing up at a concert. That's bullshit by any standard. The band themselves were good, but it was a lower tier performance. But that's only because I've seen them ten times, something has to be at the bottom. By comparison to every other show I've seen, their energy was lower and the set was shorter. I don't get why people are scoffing at any criticism about this gig. It's only natural to compare it to other Wilco shows you've been to.
  6. Yeah, I was at that MMJ show and it was great. There's plenty of video available for it, people were going nuts over the (almost) three hour set. And yes, the 2007 show at Palladium was my favorite Wilco show ever. It also never fails that the people who think that all gripes over a show are invalid, are always the ones who weren't there.
  7. Regarding the band getting people involved, they've done their part imo. If you aren't doing cartwheels by the end of Art of Almost, you are just completely indifferent. I don't think there's any winning over to be done.
  8. Yes, we were dying to be in that far left section. It was, left to right, everyone standing to about half to almost none when it got to us. What was great was when the show was almost over, we turned around and now our section was mostly all standing, the same people that were throwing things and kicking our chairs. I guess they deemed it okay to stand at that point. But as I said we were able to just walk down to the front of the stage and stay there the rest of the show which was nice, and I explained our situation to venue staff when we were questioned and they were nice about it and le
  9. It had nothing to do with being obstinate.
  10. The sit/stand sit/stand was driving me insane. I would say most of the venue was standing most of the time. My section was up and down constantly. So eventually my girl and I just said forget it and stood the rest of the time, and then people started yelling obscenities at us. So of course we weren't sitting after that. It would be one thing if it was one or the other, but people were up and down all night. When we went to get a beer, some guy followed me out and tried to get in my face over it. I immediately got in his and retorted that 80% of the venue was standing, and I wasn't going
  11. Wanted to edit the title to this but I've still got them. Call one of the tickets free, 50 bucks for the pair. Just really want to get rid of them at this point.
  12. Got an extra pair for the show I can't use. Only looking for face value. Tickets were 51.24 each. Balcony A, first row, seats 1 and 2. Call it $100 even including shipping. I'll mail them out the same day. PM me here. Sold a pair here last tour and had a great experience, would rather list here.
  13. Got 2 for Dallas. Looks like it sold out in 5 minutes. Not happy with my seats, but happy to be in the building at least.
  14. I'm stuck in waiting room limbo too. The worst part is that Friday, I got fucking jury duty. Dunno what I'm going to do.
  15. Scott Weiland - Massive douche as anticipated (Dean DeLeo was great though) Scott Lucas (Local H) - Pretty quiet and always seems a little annoyed, but will always take a picture or sign an autograph, so can't really come down on em too hard. Frank Turner - Basically the nicest guy ever.
  16. Anyone know when Dallas goes on sale?
  17. New Frank Turner out front by far. MMJ, Okkervil River and Fleet Foxes are up there too. New Local H album this fall though, and I'm sure it'll be #1.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDtGZs1L0Ts This song always reminded me of a modern Knights in White Satin. Kills me how talented these guys used to be in comparison to what they are now. Some of their deep cuts are outstanding and nothing like you would imagine.
  19. suites, which shows have you taped?
  20. I agree. I saw Arcade Fire with Okkervil River in Dallas over the weekend and it was outstanding.
  21. Love of my life put "Golden" on a mix CD back in '04.
  22. I don't see where to close it, but the tickets have been sold.
  23. Pit is obviously sold out, but I'm just looking for face value + service charges. I'll ship them for free. Was able to secure a couple tickets to Denton so I'm going to hit that instead. Price for both is $86 (30 per ticket and 12.99 service fees per ticket). Post in this thread or PM me to let me know. First come first served.
