  1. Stellar show last night for "An Evening With My Morning Jacket." They played for nearly three hours. I had heard they had been covering Erykah Badu's "Tyrone" on this tour. She lives in Dallas, and as they went into it, she came out and joined the band on stage and it was awesome, crowd went crazy. I'll try to upload some more pictures of it later, but here's the set and video of Tyrone. 3. Nickle Creek has done a couple, pretty positive Poor Places was one.
  4. God, that Rolling Rock show was their best, ever.
  5. That song always reminded me of The Moody Blues' "Knights in White Satin." But speaking of the Doors, they were on a tribute album and Weiland did a few shows with the band in Morrison's place, like this VH1 special. Listen and tell me he isn't damn near spot on, especially towards the end: http://youtube.com/watch?v=oCDVvnLPyD0
  6. I agree 100%. Here they are performing it on VH1 Storytellers http://youtube.com/watch?v=3XSJjzheHs8 Analog, if you're interested, their 5th, Shangri La Dee Da, is my second favorite. But its quite different from Purple.
  7. They are. Atlantic was prepared to strike a deal that would get them out of their record contract (7 albums, they've delivered 6) until this tour started, because they didn't see it taking off. But now that they're playing sold out shows (in front of as much as 30,000)...they want that 7th record. The lawsuit has only been filed against Weiland/Kretz (drummer) because Atlantic relieved the DeLeo brothers (guitar/bass) of their responsibility to pursue other endeavors, which included Army of Anyone with Richard Patrick.
  8. Yea, I know that this probably isn't the place for STP discussion, but I was very excited for this massive reuion gig as they are my favorite band growing up, and still are one of my favorites today. Their stage show iss really high up there. When this tour was announced, I was furious. They ripped off fans, started a BS "fan club" that you had to pay 50 bucks to join, just to get presale access for their overpriced shows, and a slew of other complaints I won't bore you with. I went in impossible to please and came out really surprised. Those guys could have phoned it in and they didn't.
  9. Pretty good record. Nothing earth shattering but I really enjoy it. Also, no big deal, but I read a lot of people here saying that The Wallflowers have four albums, and that Bringing Down the Horse (the one with One Headlight, 6th Ave, 3 Marlenas, etc) is their first album. They actually have 5 albums, their first was self titled and released 4 years prior. Sorry, kind of a big Wallflowers nerd.
  10. lol. Only 20 posts and I've established a legacy.
  11. I saw Strangers today, and Sad and Lonely was in there, but I'm almost positive it was not the album version, but a Jeff solo version.
  12. I just finished The Road yesterday. I've read a lot of books in my life, and that was one of the best. I actually teared up. What an emotional punch in the gut. I can't recommend it enough. Brilliant. I've shifted now to American Gods by Neil Gaiman today.

  17. I'll be there. Its one of the "nicer" venues but only because its relatively new. Saw Army of Anyone there earlier. As for loudness, I think that while they songs may be loud, the nature of Wilco's music makes it easier on the ears than taking them to a hard rock show. You'll be fine.
  18. California Stars was my wedding song. Reservations and We're Just Friends stand out too.
  19. I grab one, stop at my local QT for a big ass fountain drink, and sit in the back of a church parking lot around midnight to play through one of the records.
