The Jayhawks best years are well behind them and the solo material that both of them make or that they make together can never eclipse those two records. The Kevin Jr story is very sad. At this point he will probably live his entire life being the guy who just didn't make it. He fell victim to drugs and maybe his own self image as a big rock star in the mode of Ray Davies or Alex Chilton, who just couldn't quite find his audience. LouieB

I have to admit on one level I feel sorry for Zimmerman, because he is a psychopath and bit of a moron. While he survived this trial and this story will eventually fade to some extent, he will never have a normal life, with a job and maybe a family, and aspects of life we all enjoy. Its sad, but had he had half a brain, he would have stayed in his vehicle, kept his gun out of his hands, and just allowed Trayvon to go home, he would still be unknown. LouieB

Okay, so we are all wrong. Zimmerman didn't pursue Martin, he did back off, and this whole case is totally Trayvon Martin's fault. I get it. So really I don't know what anyone anywhere is excited about. Clearly Zimmerman had every right to shoot him when he attacked him. LouieB

So why didn't he back off? You keep defending a guy who shot a teenager who didn't invade his home or initially threaten him in any way. LouieB

Once again I don't know why we are even talking about this. Hixter does think it was perfectly okay for Zimmerman to shoot Martin because his life was in danger. How he put his life in danger is really not germane to the conversation. It was enough that he had a gun and he got to use it under FLA law. Remember this is a person who owns a gun strong enough to shoot a person in half in case he needs it against an intruder. Personally I am fine with the Zimmerman is not a racist narrative. I don't think that changes the case all that much. Strip it all down to the barest things we know for certain about this case and we know one thing for sure. Zimmerman should not have ever gotten out of his car and confronted Martin, period. The police told him not to, he did it anyway, something happened, Martin got shot. Had he not acted like a goddam idiot he would have a regular life still and Martin would be alive. LouieB

I think we got his point long ago. Don't restrict guns Don't restrict gun magazines. Let people carry guns wherever and whenver they want. Let people use guns if they think they have to, which includes shooting people, since that is the reason most people have guns. (Some like to kill animals and some like to shoot targets, but that's not what we are talking about here.)
