  1. i thought that the show was great. spent the weekend in charleston, it was a good time. other than the guy behind me who wanted everyone to sit down......rock and roll show dude.
  2. thanks jules. as long as they show happens it will be hard to let me down. seems to me that the wait can only make it better.
  3. these people are not assholes, just bad taste. an asshole tells a long time wilco fan to stop bitching about a canceled show after they just caught residency gigs. just jokeing jules.
  4. you are a class act to kick people while they down. i am not sure that i know a wilco fan that would be happy about a show being canceled a week before show time. if you read the posts people are understanding but sad. you should save your advice for people who asked for it. you clicked on the link...how about a little personel accountability. spongebob
  5. this show has kept me going through the winter. i was traveling five hours and staying the weekend with my wife. if this is true i still don't see why they can't do both the snl and the charleston show. it is not like they need to practice...fuck...they just did the five night run in chicago. they could do snl in their sleep. the show is live....at 11:30 eastern time on 3/1. i am not mad...just completly let down. i am not used to this from wilco...so i am going to try to cut them some slack. fuck, fuck, fuck spongebob
  6. well i am crossing my fingers for a great show(i know it will be, they all are, i have the flac to prove it). it is not like wilco is ryan adams and you roll the dice when you buy tickets. it will be the first show i have seen outside of asheville(i have caught all three here). the wife and i are going to make a weekend out of it. easy to do in a town like charleston. whatever the band has on slate sounds like heaven to me. spongebob(j)
  7. if it were me i would notice. but that is probably why i'm not in a kick ass rock band.
  8. this is going to sound wierd ....but looking at wilco base, the charleston show on 2/29 appears to be the first time wilco has played this date in thier history. if i am wrong some one tell me. it will be another four years before this can happen again. call me strange...but i have a really good feeling about what the charleston audience is going to see. i am a super nerd(sorry)....but i wonder if there are any other dates in the year that wilco has never played. spongebob
  9. fakebook was album number four. "ride the tiger" came first in 1986, followed by "new wave hotdogs" and "yo la tengo for president" in 1987. they got around to fakebook in 1990. fakebook is a really great album though...you got that part right. spongebob
  10. "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."-F.S. Fitzgerald Even if UT reunited it wouldn't be the same. The myth is worth far more to me. If I want to hear UT live I simply put on a boot from 13 to 18 years ago. Reunions usually pale in comparison to the original. And I said usually people, no need to hit me with the exceptions. There are exeptions for everything. spongebob

here is a link if you bittorrent: The Traders Den--Uncle Tupelo 5-1-94 SBD spongebob
  12. summerteeth is a great record. tied with foxtrot for second in my opinion. "being there" has to be in my mind wilcos best to date. there is somthing trancendent about it. jeff lyricly wasn't at top form compared with later works. and the playing from a technical standpoint is better today than it ever has been and will probably be even better the more they play together. there is just something about "being there' that makes me feel like not only have i lived these songs but i will probably re-live them agian. it is just a very special record and you shoud buy it now. spongebob
  13. from this quote i assume you have found what you sought. if you do bittorrent here is a link to jays last show that was posted on the traders den site. great sound and show.....and a rockin' Kamera. Traders Den- Jays Last Show- Kick ass Kamera spongebob
  14. K-Settes sbd on Dimeadozen here it is. posted by our very own howdy. spongebob

  16. the release date for mermaid avenue vol 2 was may 30 of 2000. this show is from april 28 2000. that timeline seems to work for me. that is about one month before. YHF was released april 23 of 2002. it was completed 9 or 10 months before that date(ball park figure). that was still a year away from the date of this show.(ball park figure). so maybe i'm wrong but i am comfortable with this date and have no plans to change it on the traders den where i have torrented it. spongebob
  17. i am going to take this in a differnt direction.... jeff glen jerry douglas edgar myer take jeff and glens acoustic work and mix in a little skip, hop, and wobble and the result would hopefully sound hauntingly beautiful. spongebob
  18. i can't belive it took three pages and 47 posts for someone to suggest one by one. "a must in your home"(voice of harold). but seriously can you have a wilco mix without that song? spongebob
  19. The back half to me is as strong as the first. It slows down on tempo but not quality. Fifteen keys and high water are two of my favorite cuts from the album. Just check out the lyrics for high water. Try to face up to the blinding sun Racing for the final word to come Facing up, it's hard to stay devout I can see the sand and it's running out And it's running out We quote each other only when we're wrong We tear out the threads and move along We can't seem to find common ground I can see the sand and it's running out It was only circumstances But it's the difference It gets in the way No
  20. Anodyne is a record of mythic proportions. In my opinion a top 100 album of all time that continues attract listeners who always say "why have i not heard this before". Trace is as good as farrar(without tweedy) gets. Which is sad because its 12 years old. Farrar is one of those artists where one says "he has so much potential.....but he doesn't live up to it". In my opinion. A.M. is a good start and proof to me that jeff has grown remarkably as a guitar player and song writer. Dash 7, Blue eyed soul, and too far apart are the only ones i listen to a lot anymore. compareing or even trying
  21. The Band- Look Out Cleveland Neil Young- Time Fades Away Simon and Garfunkel- The Only Living Boy in New York, At The Zoo Bruce Springsteen- The E Street Shuffle Pavement- 5-4=Unity(a take on Brubecks Take 5), Embasy Row Gillian Welch- Wrecking Ball This is fun. spongebob disclaimer- i would prefer wilco at wilco shows. but these tunes would be fun at random times for me. however if i constructed a dream setlist for a wilco show these tunes would not make it.
  22. no apologies needed. if i had a dollar for everything i forgot i would be rich on a daily basis. spongebob
  23. Both played on the last U.T. record. In fact if I remember correctly there was Jeff, Jay, Ken, John, and Max with a guest spot from doug sham. Mike left tupelo after the march e.p.....ken was the second drummer to replace mike. it is all in learning how to die by greg kot. good book that is worth the time. spongebob
