I just bought YHF vinyl. I love the 180 gram weight. It sounds PERFECT! "Pot Kettle Black" is not faded out and sounds so cool. I only wish that the entire vinyl cataloge was not a whole week's pay.

Brooklyn was the same set list from Delaware, 2 nights before, with the exception of "Box Full of Letters" (which was still awesome, my first time hearing this live) in Delaware and "You and I" in Brooklyn. Both shows were great, but I would rather go for a more obscure set list than special guests. Both shows were still really great but I'm not used to the guys sticking to a set list so tight throughout a tour. I guess I was hoping for more surprises seeing that I traveled from Mass to see two shows in one weekend. And for the top requested songs, I guess they pretty much just play what

they got MAGAZINE CALLED SUNSET?!!! WHAT THE FUUUUUCK! I hate when bands pull out the goods for their hometown/area show. Magazine was top-requested for Brooklyn!

It's starting to grow on me...

Since this record was made especially for Vinyl Saturday, please please please everyone support your local indie record shops! If you own a record player and still enjoy spinning them, please make an effort to buy a copy. Don't just take the free mp3 and call it a day if you have the option of doing otherwise

Whoops, you're right. I'm all caught up in the excitement.

I bought the 7 inch today. "Unlikely Japan" sounds absolutely nothing like "Impossible Germany" save for the same lyrics. It's really slow with acoustic and piano. It sounds like something off of "A Ghost Is Born"...it's really dark. It kind of reminds me of the "Hummingbird" version from the Wilco Book. It says it was recorded in 2003 at the Loft by Mikael. "You Never Know" is amazing as well. Wow, I can't wait for this new album.

I counted atleast 8 off your list that have been played in the past couple years. Several of those I have seen.

Were you at the show? Gotta love the 10 minute ride to the show. I work in Northampton and met Jeff on my lunch break the day of the show. He was actually wearing a winter hat and shorts like the Collegian story says.

Pretty good review, the guy sounds like a fan himself...many critics are.

Wilco fans announce their love for Pat Sansone

JERK! -
Oh sorry if you don't like Western Mass. Jeff's manager Tony likes it so much he's moving he's moving here! (ha). And you got your Tweedy jokes all wrong. p.s. that crowd was unruly and severely obnoxious. and to the girls next to me screaming for him to play "on and on", I hope they weren't too upset hearing not one SBS song. Ha ha ha.

Why "Please Be Patient With Me" is the greatest song on earth

Yea, but this is the new era-Wilco. They just look so comfortable without challenging themselves as hard as they used to. If Jeff tried to push SBS material on Bennett/Coomer era Wilco, the songs would've been violently twisted around... that excitement of "what are they gonna do next?" has faded for me since Nels jumped aboard. He's such overkill to Jeff.
-
Ah, so the new album will indeed by SBS part 2. I never really liked songs like One Wing and Let's Fight...so sleepy.

Whoever got two tickets in row CC you stole my tickets because my web browser messed up and I couldn't order. !!!!!
-
Are the best tickets sold during pre-sales or the regular sale? What kinds of tickets are usually availible for pre-sales? I just wanna know if it's worth it to skip work for this.
-
What's the deal with the pre-sale? Does every presale equate to the good seats being unavailible in the general sale? Do we choose from every availibile seat in the presale? Maybe this is why I can never get front row for certain theater shows.

I could've lived without seeing U2. Bono pisses me off. But I am more upset that Conan O'Brien wasn't chosen as Barack's vice prez like he was promised. And I heard somewhere that Barack likes Bob Dylan which is awesome. We have a president who listen to freakin' Dylan? Barack smoked a lot pot. and I wanna see him smoke a friggin cigarette. That would be badass. Flick his butt and pound on the big red button and implode the entire Middle East ahahahaha. I just purged like 19 different thoughts.

Classic 30 -- that's a tube amp right? Tube amps are tailor-made for warm tones. A new set of tubes always bring the beef back to an amp. I don't prefer pedals. I go organic without any effects.
-
Um, Jay's a dick. He comes off as so reclusive and unappreciative. Jeff's songs always stood out on the Tupelo records, too. That may be biased coming from a Wilco fan but it may not be.
-
Sorry if it's been asked before, but is Uncle Tupelo's Conan performance online anywhere? Can't find it on youtube.

Anone considering purchasing Fender equipment in 2009
LeeT4321 replied to jff's topic in Solid State Technology
Or you can buy a new Squier guitar for the old Fender price. Squier's new Classic Vibe series really aren't bad. Change the pickups and maybe the tuners and you've got a keeper. Fender's best years are behind them. Their new solid-state amps are junk. There's no reason to buy new, especially amps. Craigslist, eBay, come on! Especially for OOP guitars; I found my sought-after 2001 woodgrain LP Special on eBay for under 650 bucks. -
I covered Pot Kettle Black. Recorded in my basement w/ Dell Inspiron (Vista) and Audacity. Late 90s Tascam 4-track used for pre-amp mixer. Shure PG58 mic... A very medicore recording setup but I played my ass off. Comments appreciated. streaming link: http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/1035721

I am looking for the name of a paperback about Wilco that I found at B&N a while back. It's not The Wilco Book, and it's not Greg Kot's Learning How To Die. The first few pages harkened back to the begining of Wilco/A.M. and talked mainly about Jeff....anyone know this book? edit: sorry, it was the Greg Kot book I was looking for.
