  1. wondering if he's doing two shows here to make up for the taste? either way, this is great news. guessing this means no benefit shows this year, which is ok too.
  2. I'll agree 100% with everything in the OP. My first time attending this event and Jeff just did not seem that interested in singing. Of my 40+ Wilco/Tweedy solo shows this was easily the most disappointing. I thought the setlist was fairly generic as far as Tweedy setlists go too. The improv on the other hand was somewhat unexpectedly hilarious. Horatio Sanz and TJ (from the sonic commercials) killed it and everyone else was great too.
  3. Nice! Would love to see Be Not So Fearful and New Madrid come back at the 'living room' show next month.
  4. My 27th wilco show and I'd say it's possibly a top 5 for me. You know it's going to be a good night when they open with red eyed and blue/I got you.
  5. Was looking through the prior Wilco20 setlists and we haven't gotten these songs that were played: Promising, When The Roses Bloom Again, Far Far Away, Was I In Your Dreams, Solitaire and Blood of the Lamb. Would also like to see Christ for President and an electric New Madrid tonight. Can't believe tonight is the last show. I did Milwaukee/all of Chicago and I could do another few shows next week for sure.
  6. No offense, but I've never understood wanting to see them play other popular one off covers. I've been going to the Tweedy solo benefit shows every year and I always get annoyed when people request stuff like Radiohead, Zeppelin, Beatles, etc instead of a sweet Wilco/Tweedy song. It's not like they don't have a huge back catalogue to choose from!
  7. Another awesome show. Was really glad to see I'm a Wheel and Kicking TV show up, plus electric Too Far Apart, Say You Miss Me and LNGCA. Was that the first time they've done Shakin' Sugar post-Jay? I always kind of thought that was more a Jay song, so that was a very nice surprise. Really bummed that there are only two nights yet, but also excited to see what they're going to play.
  8. Never thought I'd get my personal trifecta of Cars Can't Escape, Pieholden Suite (!!!) and New Madrid in the same show. Hell of an evening. Hopefully the total pros stick around for the rest of the week.
  9. that was some good wilco. was a bit disappointed to see the Poor Places/Art of Almost/I Might combo show up so soon after Milwaukee, especially since we got art of Almost on Friday too, but they really dug deep for the rest of the show, which was great.
  10. Thought Split Single was pretty good. First I had heard of them, aside from knowing of Bob Mould, but I enjoyed them for an opener.
  11. was thinking about this last night...if they do 30 songs a night, is it even possible for them to do no repeats without just getting into completely obscure random covers? I think with all of their proper studio tracks and their Mermaid Ave contributions that's about 120 songs, so they'd still need close to 60 b-sides, covers, etc. Would be awesome to see them try though!
  12. I noticed that in Milwaukee too. Seemed like the guy in front of me was more concerned with taking pictures of the band than actually watching them.
  13. Good show, although I think I like Milwaukee better. Even so, bodes well for this being night one of six! Was very excited to hear Camera. Holding out hope that they do Pieholden Suite sometime during the run too. Noticed that the small group of balcony standers were back, so we got a lot of "sit down assholes" being yelled the first 30 min or so.
  14. Openers are up for all of the shows. Was really hoping that it would just be Wilco since this either means that their set will be shorter or I will be out much later than I want to be on a work night! 12/3 - Disappears 12/5 - Split Single 12/6 - Sam Amidon 12/8 - Jim Becker Group 12/9 - Nicholas Tremulis and Rick Rizzo of Candy Golde 12/11 - Marrow 12/12 - Jim Campilongo Trio with Chris Morrissey, Josh Dion
  15. they're not sold out until the site says sold out. this is how I got into lincoln hall in 2011, just have to be persistent!
  16. keep trying if you got shut out, just got into night 1 to complete my 6.
  17. I tweeted at Jam when it was announced and they told me that there was not going to be a 6-day option unfortunately. How fast do we think these are going to sell out?? I've been stressing about getting all 6 shows all week!
  18. Guess I didn't need to buy Milwaukee tickets and use PTO. 7 Wilco shows in 10 days tho...
  19. bought a 6th row single, going to head up from chicago. sucks that the tickets are will call only, but it was too good to pass up.
  20. Thanks for the heads up on that, picked the last copy up at Reckless. Not a colored vinyl so I'm guessing this was meant as an under the radar thing for some reason.
  21. still holding out hope for some chicago shows sometime later this fall...
  22. I'm guessing at this point that the Chicago Tweedy show that got rained out isn't going to be rescheduled. So are these Tweedy dates the other shows that the email mentioned last week, or is there still hope for a couple more random Wilco shows like the Ohio dates?
  23. Great show, really fortunate to be able to attend this after the taste show got cancelled so I could still see the new band (although it made the taste show getting cancelled even more annoying since I would love to see a full show from these guys). I really liked the new songs, but the highlight for me was easily give back the keys to my heart. On an unrelated note, for a sold out show, I was surprised at how pleasantly roomy it was inside the venue. Guess they sell a few more tickets when it's not a free show haha.
