  1. I don't really like Fakebook.
  2. Why aren't they the biggest band in the world?
  3. I recommend messing around a bit on it. Kind of get yourself familiar with how it works, where certain pitches are etc. and then look on the internet for how to bend notes. It's like riding a bike: all of a sudden it will click and you can bend notes like crazy. I mostly just jam on mine while I play guitar. I'm not great to the point where I can play back something I heard but after familiarizing myself with it for a couple of months I can come up with some pretty nifty riffs.
  4. Another feat the world thought not possible has been accomplished.
  5. Got season 3 on DVD for the holidays and the commentary on some of the episodes is pretty interesting.
  6. It WAS very creepy. That's exactly how I felt. Do you mind if I use that reason for why he was there when my friends ask me?
  7. I saw it at a local art house a couple of nights ago. The girl I went with said she hated it (could have been because she had to pee the whole time) but I really enjoyed it. It was really beautiful and funny and interesting. I think that if you aren't almost obsessive about Dylan's life/career (as in seen documentaries/read books about him) then a lot of the inferences would get lost. But I really enjoyed it. The only thing that I was disappointed with was how Haynes handled the "Judas!" ordeal. That's one of my favorite moments in all of rock and roll. I read somewhere how the movie is rel
  8. I was going to say something about how I saw that video shortly after he died and how it still makes me cry even today, but when I opened up the fast reply box no words came into my head. Music is everything to me and Joe was the one who first showed me it's beauty. The first part of that newish biography on him is really quite moving.
  9. I dig the sound. This is one of the first myspace recommendations that I have actually enjoyed listening to.
  10. Nothing from Astral Weeks? I'm disappointed...
  11. Let's see here. Drums: "The Kids Are Alright" by The Who Bass: "Edit the Sad Parts" by Modest Mouse Electric Guitar: "The Lung" by Dinosaur Jr Acoustic Guitar: "Don't Think Twice It's Alright" by Bob Dylan Keys: "Chest Fever" by The Band Vocals: "Love and Happiness" by Al Green Pedal Steel: I couldn't think of one.
  12. Which is about all you can ask for from these kinds of things.
  13. That's awesome about the new material but sucks about the sucky parts. On a side note I was in the airport in Phoenix this summer and turned around and he was standing right next to me. He was macking on his girl so I didn't say hi or anything but it was cool nonetheless.
  14. One of my absolute favorite past-times is to get really stoned on a clear, starry night and think about it all. It also works just as well not stoned.
  15. I like the band that has the guitar skateboard
  16. Sweet lord that is awesome. And if The National open I will be greatly sadder that I'm not home in February.
  17. Careful, Jeff makes fun of Frisbee golfers.
  18. I just got a Sunburst Jaguar a little while ago...really beautiful, but I think this choice is just personal preference.
  19. Step right this way for Stereogum's best of lists. Wilco is at 18th for album of the year and Jeff is at 33rd for Mr. Indie Rock hotness or something like that. Anyway, everything was voted on by the readers of Stereogum.com.
