That's what we did back in "the day". You know before the interwebs. Tape ourselves playing a song, with the name of the band written on the tape, and send it certified mail to ourselves and never open it. Although we were more worried about someone stealing the name of our band, rather than the song itself.

Well, the only way for your song to get heard is for it to, you know... be heard! Don't worry so much about it being stolen(although I hear it is quite spectacular), just put it out there and see what happens. After all, if the whole world's singing your song, what was yours is everyone's from now on.

I got mine from a friend and he said there was only 3 months left on the subscription. Almost 2 years later and it's still going! I work with a guy who's always going to swap meets. He says he picks up the receivers every time he sees them and 9 times out of 10 they work for months. So my point is, I have one, but I don't have the subscription.

Sorry to point out the obvious but, after you turned it on, did you move the arm over to the record? A lot of turntables won't start moving until you move the arm.
