  1. The whole album is good. Very solid release, has a great soul vibe to it. Can't wait to see him in May at a small place in Asheville.
  2. Cool thanks. It's always good to get feedback from other concert goers. I really love their latest album Arrow. The Mountain, not so much, but maybe it's a grower. Those are the only two I have heard so far.
  3. Even though I'm already going to two concerts the next week (St. Vincent and Justin Townes Earle), I'm determined to make these work: Beach House - The 40 Watt, Athens, Georgia Heartless Bastards - The 40 Watt Mostly because the 40 Watt is such a great venue, but I may not get another chance to see those two bands at such a small place.
  4. The title of this thread should be changed to "Flex your gear muscle while other less fortunate schmucks drool in envy"
  5. The reviewer made it sound like it was an entire song. Oh well, I was still scratching my head.
  6. I heard an extensive review on this album on NPR the other morning.. Some of it sounded pretty good, but they played a clip from the rap song........ Hmmmm... is all I can say....
  7. This pretty much... Although I think he's great on Hot Rod Hotel, one of my all time favorite Wilco/Bragg tunes (highly underrated tune actually).
  8. I know, just messin around. A.M. is good, but I never really got that into it either. But Passenger Side alone makes the album a winner.
  9. He gets extra credit for not liking WTA.
  10. Not a bad list, but excluding Being There gets you a failing grade. But then again, excluding Wilco (The Album) gives you extra credit so you pass. Welcome.
  11. Andrew Bird is one of those artists that I really loved at first, but my interest quickly dropped off a cliff for some reason. Definitely looking forward to giving this a listen though.
  12. Thank you. That's the whole point of this thread. Jesus Etc., Shot In The Arm, Handshake Drugs, all great songs.. they are some of the best songs in their catalog. But they have been done enough. I personally don't want to hear them live anymore, and would rather some other tunes make it in there that they hardly play (see the other thread about songs we want them to play).
  13. Dads? Really, are we going to start that again? Your post makes no sense... Jesus Etc. is probably the best example of an "easy rocker" in their catalog.
  14. It's interesting to note that three out of the four times I have seen Wilco, they have opened with this tune. Well recent shows.. I saw them in 97 and I couldn't tell you what they opened with.
  15. Yeah, it's important not to miss the point of this thread, I too have never been disappointed after a Wilco show.. Just because I don't want to hear specific tunes and would rather hear something else, doesn't mean I don't enjoy them anyway. I might be in the beer line or standing at a urinal, but it doesn't mean I'm not bobbing my head.
  16. Impossible Germany would probably be on this list as well for me, but the fact that Nels plays the solo a little different every time always makes me eager to hear it.
  17. Don't get me wrong, there isn't a single Wilco song that I just flat out hate, but there are a few of their more popular tunes that mean pee break or beer break for me. Shot in The Arm - At one point this was my favorite Wilco song, but that tune is officially warn out for me. Jesus Etc. - Same as Shot in The Arm. Handshake Drugs - The first time I heard this live with the several minute long noise solo, I was blown away. But after the 30th time I heard it live with the several minute noise solo... yeah, beer break... I'm The Man Who Loves You - I've never been a big fan of this song, and
  18. Tears In Heaven is by far the sadest song in history.
  19. It's ok... We all go through our screaming tween girl phase.
  20. Personally I'd much rather see David Gilmour perform than Roger.. But I'm a guitar nut, and David's one of the greatest.. If David Gilmour joins the Wall tour, yeah, I'll pay the obscenely high ticket price..
  21. St. Vincent - Knoxville, May 22 Justin Townes Earle with Tristen - Asheville, May 23 Never seen any of these artists live before.. Stoked about St. Vincent, more than stoked about finally seeing JTE, and I'm just getting into Tristen. Really good stuff.
  22. If anyone deserves to be an honorary member of Wilco, it's bbop.
