I have always respected John's bass playing abilities but he never really knocked my socks off like a Toby Leaman from Dr. Dog or anything.. However, I gained a new respect for him after TWL.... He must have eaten his Wheaties or something. Excellent..

One of my first experiences partaking in an intoxicating substance other than alcohol was listening to Pure Guava. Blew my freaking mind... They are/were on my list of bands that I must see before I die.. Guess I'll have to wait for the reunion 10 years from now..

Yeah, that's going to be an awesome bill... Pretty much a dream show of mine, although a little too far for me to make the journey. The Wilco's will have to bring their A-game or Dr. Dog could potentially blow them off the stage...

Surprised there's no mention of Dr. Dog. Yes Be The Void is not their best record, but I have enjoyed it very much. It's a much more raw, free sound compared to their other material.. Definitely one of my favorites of 2012.

Saw him two nights ago and he was excellent... Such a great showman. He's also a much better guitar player than I had realized. It's something you really have to witness live to be able to grasp fully. About his health; he looked healthy to me. Yeah he's skinny as a rail, but he always has been. I think he has a lady with him now to keep him in line. I saw her on stage a couple times before the show and they kissed just before he performed.

Especially Crunchy Cheddar Jalapeno Cheetos. I just ate some.

Well off the wagon or not (I hope not), I'm really looking forward to seeing him live next week for the first time. I've been wanting to for years now but he hasn't come anywhere close. And speaking of his chops, I hope I get a chance to meet him. I want to thank him for inspiring me to learn the Travis style guitar picking (without making too much of a geek out of myself).

Very stoked about seeing her in Knoxville next week. Sounds like she's really on her game right now.

This was last night, but I saw Beach House at The Orange Peel. Excellent show. I was pretty amazed at how good they sound live. The only bummer though; my wife really wanted to meet the band after the show. So we stood around with a small group of people by the bus for about 30-45 minutes. Eventually their manager came out and said "if you guys are waiting to meet the band, please leave"... I was like really? I mean, I didn't necessarily care about meeting them, but my wife did and that was a pretty dickhead thing to do.... I guess not every band is as nice as Wilco..

Well glad to hear it was a good show, but I also have noticed he's been looking a little rough lately. Like you said, it doesn't necessarily mean he is back on the junk, but given his past he probably is.. Or at least heavy drinking again. Too bad...

They had a big bust at a hotel that I pass every day to work a few weeks ago. A few guys were running a pretty intense lab in one of the rooms. They had to have been paying off the owner. You can only leave the "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door for so long...

I'm a BIlly fan.. But when he decided to do some falsetto on a couple of the tunes from vol. 3.......... Bad idea...........
