  1. Yeah, Patton Oswalt definitely doesn't have the voice for it.
  2. This is still hands down the greatest and funniest video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNJNCazmNnI

Whoa.. It's like going back in time and seeing my 4 years ago self.
  4. A joke indeed.. Like they are a novelty act, making fun of themselves. But they'll be laughing all the way to the bank.. Records and tickets will get sold...
  5. Indeed they are. That's a big man purse that Nels is holding.
  6. Jeff is not a lead guitar player. That being said, the solo he plays on ALTWYS is brilliant. That solo is a great musician that doesn't know all of the scales, and the music theory, and the techniques, just playing with his heart, and the result is brilliant.
  7. That's one of my all time favorite Wilco performances. The Bob fall is classic. Especially since he kept playing on his back.
  8. Wow Jeff was an asshole. It's one thing firing someone, but to talk that kind of shit on stage is way below the belt. I don't know, Bob could have been an even bigger asshole (never met the guy) but that's just bad form.
  9. She's my age, she's hot, she can sing, she has ADD like me, and she's good with money. I appreciate Zooey Deschanel.
  10. It really is something to see when Nels is without Wilco.
  11. The sound his bass made when he fell actually sounded kind of cool, and somehow worked. Rock N Roll.
  12. I really hope tapers are present at that one.
  13. That's exactly what I did for my first solo/acoustic record. I just setup a couple condenser mics a foot or two apart and then hard panned them left and right, sat a couple feet away. Gives it a very live, roomy sound.. Love the way it turned out. Not quite as polished as it would sound with overdubbing etc., but that's not what I was going for. And yes, you'll probably be doing several takes.. Nothing worse then a major goof at the very end of a song. But the slight imperfections are kind of cool as they are with the records you mention above; I left one or two on my record. I also did
  14. Fixed it for you. Only saw a few shows this year. The Flaming Lips - The Tabernacle - Atlanta, Ga. My first lips concert. They performed The Soft Bulletin in it's entirety. It was epic, one of the best shows I've been to. My only complaint is that it took them a long time to set up the different instruments in between songs, which kind of killed the momentum. But still an amazing experience. And oh yeah, Mariachi El Bronx opened the show. I never knew a Mariachi band could rock this much.. And I was surprised to learn that they are normally a Hardcore band, but the Mariachi thing
  15. The year was 1996. Wilco was playing a festival at the local minor league baseball stadium with about 5 other bands. The headliner was Government Mule. Wilco played 4th I believe before Corey Stevens. I was 16 years old and didn't truly recognize their genius yet, but I really liked their performance.. Loved Jay's stage presence and how he switched between keys and guitar with a cigarette never leaving his mouth. Unfortunately I didn't really pursue their music much after that until about 7 years later when I heard a Jeff solo performance on the local radio station of "Someone Else's Song
  16. I wish I still had that. I was once (and no offense intended) a Wilco Super fan like you guys. I still love Wilco, but I'm not obsessed like I used to be. Well I guess I am still somewhat of a super fan if I still hangout at this place.
  17. The noisy guitar riff and keyboard part make that song. You can't have one without the other. Also to me, the noisy guitar riff is a staple of Wilco's sound. I'm Always In Love is one of the first Wilco tunes I ever heard, and the guitar riff hooked me.
  18. This. But that co-worker is still a douche-bag..
