  1. I'm not referencing anything. I'm just simply stating that John really kicks ass on the album.
  2. Black - Red is probably my favorite out of those. Awesome bass line! Has Dr. Dog ever written a bad song? Seriously they are one of the few bands that for all of their albums, I can't think of a single song that I just flat out don't care for. Some are better than others, but all good songs.
  3. Tweedy - Met him once after a show in Charleston, SC. Him and Michael were nice enough to greet fans in the rain after the show, although Jeff seemed kind of out of it and quiet. Frank Black - Along with Jeff, he's one of my lifelong musical idle's. Met him at a solo acoustic show in LA. Very nice guy. I complemented him on a great set and he was genuinely appreciative.
  4. Yeah I don't mean to bash my man Nels with my Laura Bush comment, but I'm not digging his hairdo these days.. and they went just a little heavy on the make-up. Honestly I really I don't give a shit what he looks like. The man is one of the greatest guitarists of our time.
  5. I don't remember what it sounds like (haven't listened since the stream) but I remember a tune that reminded me of Candy Floss near the end of the album. I remember liking it a lot.. Maybe it was Standing O.
  6. John really does shine on this record. He just wasn't scared.
  7. I don't read Pitchfork reviews. Does that mean I'm cool?
  8. This was my feeling as well upon first listen.
  9. This is definitely Johns record... He ate his Wheaties before recording it.
  10. If you post on this board, you are a fanboy or fangirl. Don't be ashamed.
  11. Damnit now I'm craving waffles.. Way to go D. Boon...
  12. meh Just kidding.. I'm with Crow.. This album just might be epic.
  13. Has anyone else got the email yet? Not that I don't trust you jcap....
  14. Somebody will. Expect a low quality leak this weekend.
  15. That's exactly what I thought when I saw the title of this thread. It could easily be a song.
  16. Stoked! Glad to see they are going back to doing the album themselves.
  17. http://viachicago.org/topic/45996-general-consensus-on-wilco-the-album/page__pid__1473745#entry1473745
  18. I've seen it live. It was effin awesome.. Especially the drums in between the "shake it off" chorus.
  19. Indeed.. And hey, the thread title doesn't specify which band so..
  20. The White Album Revolver Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Abbey Road Rubber Soul Magical Mystery Tour Let It Be
  21. Not to go off topic, but my bands next album is going to be the opposite of cohesive. In fact some of the songs are just flat out random. And I couldn't be more proud of it so far. Crow you can be sure you'll get a VIP listen..
  22. Have you heard it yet? I think cohesive is a subjective term. I thought WTA was very cohesive. One, long, cohesive piece of crap. I like the sound of this.
