  1. What's the difference between women and hurricanes? None: they come in warm and wet and leave with the house and the car.
  2. I've always thought that it is kind of lazy to name an album after one of the song titles (although not as lazy as self titling it). A LOT of artists do this though. So I must be missing the point or something...
  3. Well "Wilco (The Album)" was a bland album with a bland title... I think "The Whole Love" is meaningful and unique.. Maybe the album will be as well.
  4. I stand by my point that album titles are irrelevant. Do they really matter? What's burned on that disc is what matters to me.
  5. Yeah, Circuital is the only one on my disappointment list so far. I actually liked it when I first heard it.. But I haven't listened to it since...
  6. Kurt Vile - Smoke Ring For My Halo Daniel Romano - Sleep Beneath The Willow Bon Iver - Bon Iver I'm sure there are more but that's all I can think of right now..
  7. Really digging the new tune.. It definitely reminds me of Summerteeth. I've listened to it like 10 times already and it's not getting old. High hopes for the new record.
  8. Indeed... It must be a rule of thumb in the music industry.. If no one can decide on a good album title, just self title it!
  9. I like it.. Even though album titles don't matter that much to me. I once drove myself to the brink of insanity trying to come up with my bands first album title. Ever since then I have realized how insignificant they really are.
  10. It'll show up.. Patience young padawan..
  11. This album will also make anyone smile, don't care who you are. It's Mariachi music.. But with English vocals, and more of a pop-rock twist.. In my top five albums for the last few years.
  12. No matter how down I am, this album will always make me smile and dance (white man overbite and all).
  13. Yeah I like to believe that as well. I left my pedal board (with close to $1000 worth of pedals in it) at a venue one time and actually didn't notice it was missing until two weeks later.... I know I'm a moron.. But anyway, I called the venue absolutely mortified... Thankfully the club owner is also a musician. He said he knew someone would claim it eventually, but had fun fiddling around with it while he could...
  14. Heartbreaking.. I don't know what I would do if my strat was ever stolen.. I had a friend that had a Les Paul and a Fender bass stolen out of back of his car. I actually had an amp stolen several years ago. It's a funny story really. After I received the insurance money, I was shopping around town for a new amp and low and behold, I found my amp for sale at a local music store.. The store owner was basically like "let's not involve the police.. just get it out of here".... lol
  15. I wouldn't mind stopping by "the other board" from time to time, but last time I tried to log-in (probably a year ago) it said my account was locked and to contact the administrator... No contact info for the administrator anywhere to be found.. Shenanigans...
  16. Ryan Dunn from "Jackass" killed in car accident He was always my favorite Jackass...
  17. My wife and I drove from Greenville, South Carolina to Los Angeles, CA shortly after we were married. We took the northern route the way there.. The highlight of that trip was of course the rocky mountains. We took the southern route the way back and saw the Grand Canyon... I remember being in complete awe, it literally took my breathe away when it came into view.. It was an amazing trip and I think everyone should experience it at least once in their lifetime.. I know you'll have an awesome experience.
  18. Becoming a huge Daniel Romano fan. It's a shame that he's so unknown, I'll probably never get to see him live. I think I prefer this album to his "Sleep Beneath the Willow's. It's more raw and the recording quality sounds like it's right out of classic country studio. I hope he stays solo for the long run.. His other band "Attack In Black" is good, but he does the rootsy country thing so damn well.
  19. Actually it is an uncensored version of this board, specifically pertaining to the "Umm..." section of Via Chicago. I'm not sure if it's still around (forgot the address).
  20. This board was really hoppin when I first joined and it was only 4 years ago... It seemed like every time I refreshed my browser, there would be 10+ new posts.. It might as well have been a chat room. Those were the days.... For me it seems like the board really died when we had that big outage a year or two ago (can't remember exactly when). That's when a lot of VCers either migrated to a different board, or only seldom post here..
  21. Wilco (The Album) was a good fit. A generic name for a generic album.
  22. I've never really thought of just John or Paul... Never even considered that a certain song was written by just John or Paul... I've always been a Beatles guy.
