I'd definitely go with a flash based (solid state) USB drive. My wife has one that she takes to school and back that is 300 gigs. It's very fast, portable (a little larger than a wallet) and you could drop it out of a moving car and it would still work (haven't tried this though). I wish I remembered the freakin model name though.. If I remember I'll grab it this evening and let you know. But in general; anything like I have described above, you really can't go wrong. It's important to go with flash based drives for what you are wanting to do. No moving parts so the chances of it fai

Great article thanks for posting. Interesting how we were just talking about how it's hard to understand his lyrics, and when you do understand them, they don't make much sense.. Very interesting.. And very inspiring for a songwriter like myself..

I didn't know he was still alive.

Justin is one of those artists who's lyrics aren't supposed to really mean anything.. He puts words and phrases together that sound good, using his voice as an instrument.. It's a very intriguing album and I'm loving it... Some of the guitar/keyboard tones sound very 80's rock (almost Van Halen-ish) and he makes it work very well.

Tweedy hasn't eaten an African baby so I don't think he's all Bono yet..

One of my cats is very unhappy as part of my family

Actually our family outdoor cat had long hair.. She had long black hair with yellow eyes.. She was terrifying. She'd come to the house every few days for food and of course to bring us her latest kill... I don't remember her hair ever getting matted but she would get a bath ever so often.. -

But in all seriousness, an aggressive cat is going to be a tough sale on craigslist or anywhere like that... You could do what we did with our aggressive family cat when I was a kid; make her an outside cat. She was mean as hell (and the reason why I've never and will never own another cat) but she lived a long happy life outside.. We hardly saw her but when we did, she had a rodent in her mouth that she would later put on our front porch... She was in a cat paradise.. And honestly, I think all cats are happier living outside.. -
I listened to it once a week or so ago and haven't listened again since.. So that pretty much tells ya how much of an impact it had on me... Although I'm sure I'll get around to listening to it again eventually, first listen I wasn't that impressed.. Yes. There's Z., and then everything else.. No other MMJ album comes close..

Yeah, I was about to tell you a few ways you can get rid of a cats happiness, but then I saw where the thread was going.. -
I had to do some horn arrangement in music college.. Lost Highway pretty much gave you everything you need to know to get started. It's just like anything else in music really; get the basics and then let your ear do the rest... The ear is always the final judgment. Best of luck.

I saw these guys open for The Flaming Lips the other night. Mariachi El Bronx, the alter ego persona of the hardcore punk band The Bronx. I never thought I would take Mariachi music seriously, but they were excellent.. Great album too.

Yeah especially if he got to hit that... Liz... Yowsers..

The Flaming Lips, Tabernacle, Atlanta GA. My first Lips show... Stoked.

I can't remember the last time an album that received hype on this board didn't leak... solace - Are you leaking all of these albums?

Yeah, Justin has never been one to pop out tons of material.. And it's not like his songs are incredibly complex either. But heck, for all we know he could have a hundred songs but only a select few make the cut... I know of many other artists that do that.. Band of Horses had 20+ songs written for their last album and only 12 made the cut... About time it takes to record; it's interesting that the artists of yesterday would put out albums so quickly.. Buddy Holly is another one. I'm sure it had something to do with recording was a lot simpler in those days... You basically set up a mic

Same here my friend.. Wilco's worst song is still better than 99% of the crap that is put out today... And that's not just a cop out.. WTA was an ok album.. My gut tells me their new album will be good.

I saw them at a real small place in Charleston, SC a few years back.. It was a great show. I remember thinking it was odd that they didn't play "Low"..... I think it's pretty Rock N Roll when a band doesn't play their biggest hit... Nada Surf did the same thing when I saw them in Boston. They didn't play "Popular".

I want some of whatever he's smoking..

Justin Townes Earle does a great cover of "Can't Hardly Wait" on his Midnight At The Movies record. Although there are some less than flattering live performances of it floating around youtube, the album version is excellent.

Never played it, but it looks/sounds interesting.... Online - Is it one of those online games where it's free to play, but they lure you in by only letting you go so far without paying etc.?

Agreed.. In-n-out was my 2nd favorite burger joint in LA. 1st favorite was Tommy's... THE best chilli burger on the planet..
