  1. I'd say there's a very good chance they will play it. Every Wilco show I've been two in the last few years, they have always honored the top 2 or 3 requests. With the exception of "Dreamer In My Dreams" that was #1 for the Charleston show a couple years ago (remember Jen... ). They had it on the set list for the encore, but didn't play it.
  2. I can dig. I happen to like "the shredding". There is a time and place for a little shredding here and there, and he does it very well. A great guitarist must have a big old bag of tricks, and he certainly has one. You can't beat the twangy JB style of lead (especially on Forget The Flowers) but Nels can really tear it up on that song live as well.
  3. Cool, I'll be in row L, I think pretty far to the left (in the 140's)... It does look like a pretty small place so I'm sure there isn't a bad seat in the house.
  4. Cool thanks Jen. Just got tickets for Atlanta. You're right LouisevilleGreg.. MMJ tickets are expensive, mine were $55 including fees... But it is Ticketbasterd afterall..
  5. Geeze.. Didn't even notice my own type-o.. In that case,
  6. Very stoked about Atlanta, tickets go on sail tomorrow. Wilco in March, MMJ in April.. Can't beat that. Anyone ever been to Chastain in Atlanta? Although it seats 7k, it looks fairly small from the pictures.
  7. I never said I hated VW, but I just wore out the first album and now can't stand to listen to it. And Contra is kind of a disappointment. I'd like to see that unplugged. Playing unplugged really brings out the true musicianship in a band. A lot can be masked by loud drums and distortion.
  8. Same here. Someone should start a thread about bands you used to love, but now hate... I wore out their first record and now I can't stand to listen to it... I put in Contra and I'm just not feeling it.. I think they tried to be a little more adventurous on this album but it backfired. The autotune is what really did it for me.
  9. Awesome, Atlanta here I come. Been a MMJ fan for years now, and this will be my first show.
  10. Just can't get into anything past Maladroit. Speaking of Maladroit (and sorry to veer off subject PT) but I put that record in the other day. Maladriot was their last great album... The guitar on that album is obnoxiously louder than anything else in the mix.. It's that raw Weezer sound that they just don't have anymore.
  11. "My Name is Jonas" by Weezer is a Rock song, and it's in 6/8. It was even featured in Guitar Hero, so that surely means it's a Rock Song!
  12. Surprised no one has mentioned Free Bird.. I mean c'mon, the guitar solo(s) at the end are enough to make it a viable candidate. There's a reason why "play Free Bird!!!" is shouted by at least one audience member at every rock concert on the planet.
  13. Yep, the Orange Peel. I could tell that The Orange Peel wasn't planning for a packed house. There were chairs set up in front of the stage, and then a huge open space behind them.. About half of the chairs were occupied. It just cracks me up when I think of the look on peoples faces after the first few notes of the show.. But I enjoyed the hell out of it.. Drank some New Castle on draft, got to meet Nels.. Good times.
  14. Just like to add, I found it funny how I could tell that most of the people went to that show because "cool, it's that guy from Wilco!" They quickly learned that The Singers are a completely different animal than Wilco, after the first few seconds of avant garde jazz chaos... I heard a dude in the bathroom "I can't handle this stuff..."..
  15. Nels Cline Singers, last year in Asheville. Around 30 people there.. Definitely an intimate performance, and very awesome.
  16. At least from my experience; your best bet for meeting the band would be going behind the venue after the show. So if you don't get to meet them before, try going behind the venue around where their tour bus is. Jeff and Michael went out back to meet fans in Charleston a couple years ago (in the rain I might add).
  17. There's like wind going up his shirt or something.. Cause he's totally not fat in Moxie beans pictures. But he's missing his "package sportin" white biker shorts.
  18. 1997 - Greenville Braves Stadium, Greenville, SC * 2007 - Ovens Auditorium, Charlotte, NC 2008 - North Charleston PAC, North Charleston, SC 2009 - Thomas Wolfe Auditorium - Asheville, NC
  19. I know this is kind of going off topic, but the coolest celebrity I've ever met was Ed O'neal (Al Bundy himself). Found him drinking a Guiness at a bar in LA. Very cool, down to earth guy. I've heard of some celebrities being totally cool when you meet them, and some that are total douche bags. I heard Adam Sandler is very cool in person. He's a guy that loves being famous and is always nice to his fans. Ben Stiller on the other hand, heard he's a total ass in person. A friend of mine saw him in Vegas and when he tried to approach him, Ben just shook his head and walked away.. Again, he pro
  20. So my band and I are thinking about sending our new record to Channel Fuse Media to get mastered. I know the price of $99 for an album sounds too good to be true, but I've read a lot of good reviews about them. Has anyone else heard of them or used them in the past? http://www.channelfusemedia.com/index.html
  21. Dr. Dog. I never hated them, but was just kind of meh about them when I got Fate. Months later I got Easy Beat and just completely fell in love. Now I own all of their records, have seen them live, and they are one of my top favorite bands.
  22. All jokes aside; 1. Being There 2. Summerteeth 3. YHF 4. A Ghost is Born 5. Sky Blue Sky 6. AM 7. Wilco (The Album) That's a good analogy, it's like picking your favorite child... Can't be done.
