That pic is so great!! That's going to become a classic Wilco photo.. At least for me.

Well if they keep their sets like the one they played Tuesday night in Asheville, I think they will satisfy everyone.. Casual fan, hardcore fan, or someone who has never heard them. They played songs from all 8 albums the other night including VERY rare tunes like Candyfloss.. What more could you ask for?

That has to be one of the best concert reviews I've ever read. Thanks for posting!!

Crazyness! Well, I've never seen a pic of bigshoulders so I wouldn't have had a clue.

I was indeed... I felt bad though that my wife couldn't enjoy the brews with me (her being pregnant and all).. But she said that it's silly for me to have to miss out too.. Plus, there will be plenty of beer catching up to do when she has the baby in August. I did quit smoking though for her.. And that was no easy task.

Maybe next time my friend. We were very rushed this time (not much time to hang out) since it was on a week day, but hopefully next time it'll be on a weekend or something.

Also like to mention; I actually really enjoyed Hawk & A Hacksaw. Their music really isn't my bag, but it was interesting to hear something different for a change. Plus the violinist was quite the looker.. And an amazing musician. And oh yeah, I'll definitely be going back to the Bier Garden.. Their selection was excellent. I had the Tommy Knocker Cocoa Porter, which was yummy.. Plus the 10.5% Horn Dog Barley Wine gave me a nice little buzz for the show..

Yep, it was a little after 9 in Asheville last night.

It was grand indeed. There were several tunes that completely caught me off gaurd. It's kind of funny that they opened with Sunken Treasure. They have opened with that song the last three times I have seen them, Charlotte, Charleston, and now Asheville.
-
Are you serious? Standing on the amplifiers? Nels bouncing around like a madman? They just seemed very energized and in good spirits to me. Much more than the last time I saw them in Charleston..
-
Same here. I would have been happy if they played nothing but Conway Twitty covers last night, but it's still always great to hear the rare stuff.
-
Absolutely. Also, I was expecting them to play at least one new song. I guess they want to save the new goodies for the album tour.
-
Yep it was unexpected and spectacular. Sorry to rub it in... They just busted right into it.. I could tell a few folks around me were like "whats this?"
-
Candy Floss was played last night.. And boy was it awesome. Another one that I thought was rare, Hoodoo Voodoo..

The little girl that helped Jeff sing Hummingbird is Lilac Rain. She goes to every Wilco show when they come to the South. If they play Hummingbird, she helps him sing it. I had the privilege of chatting with Lilac and her parents at the Charleston show. Very nice people. Great show indeed. The band was tight and they seemed like they were having a blast. Highlights for me: Candyfloss Mountain Bed She's a Jar Nels and Pat guitar duel during Hoodoo Voodoo Jeffs comment after the guitar solo on Forget the Flowers that went something like this: "there's a reason why I don't face Nels

Frank Black's Teenager of the Year is definitely in my list of top 5 greatest records of all time.

Holy crap I've been looking for a picture of these for ever, and I finally found one. Anyone remember Robo Force? My uncle gave me a bunch of these when I was 5 or 6. They would all stick to the side of my dresser!
-
I don't know why they won't make one. Frank still writes great music, he has proven this with his solo work... Just add a little Joe lead playing in there, some Kim backing vocals/bass, and some of Dave's drumming and you've got a new Pixies record.
-
Yeah no kidding. I've got all of the albums on CD and digital, and I'm not paying $175 for artwork.
-
Wow $10? I payed $16.99. Makes you think how much some stores are jacking up the price. Oh well, its for a good cause.
-
Wow, all Belgian beer? See, you know you're in a great "beer lovers city" when you've got a bar that serves ALL Belgian beer.

I can understand about the DVD (I had a hard time finding it in my town) but that is very strange they don't carry at least one or two of their albums..
-
Only once place in town had it here in Greenville, SC and they only had a couple copies left when I grabbed it.

I too just watched it for the first time last night. After reading the criticizing reviews, I tried really really hard to find these flaws.. I never could find them.. The movie was excellent.. The camera work and especially the sound. I have a decent home theater system, I set the options on 5.1, and wow.. By far the best sounding music DVD I have ever heard. I also liked how there were several John interviews. I've only heard him talk a couple times here and there in previous video's, and it was nice to finally hear him share his thoughts. It was also neat to hear Jeff say that th
