Check out the Wilco Archive; show from 10-29 1997.. Jeff said something about "I'm glad this is an all ages show so I can cuss".. And then he cussed up a storm the rest of the show. Hilarious stuff actually.. Not trying to make a point or anything, your post just made me think of that.

I'm still holding out strong too, but getting weaker every day.. My guess would be they won't play any new tunes until the release.. Then it'll be a Wilco (The Tour) filled with new songs. For the current tour until June 30th, they're the same great Wilco, playing the favorites and the old gems. But that's just my guess.

Saw them a couple years ago at a small hole in the wall bar. One of the best shows of my life.

I shall check it out. Thank you sir. Update: hmm... the music is very cool. I love the strings, the atmospheric sound to it, but I'm not feeling the vocals.. Maybe the song previews don't do it justice.

Yeah, it's starting to drive me a little batty. For some reason it wasn't this hard for SBS. Maybe because people keep saying the new record is amazing?? Well, with SBS I gave it a quick sneak listen when it leaked, but I didn't play it again until I left the record store on its release date.

Yeah.. that's what I need. The problem is I need new music.. The new Wilco album is the only new thing out right now that is appealing to me... I've already worn out BOH, Pinback, various live Wilco shows, VW, Arbouretem.. I need new music!!

+1 Yeah, my band will never be famous.. But I do it for the love of art/music and to share this art with others.. I would bet if you asked Jeff, he would have a similar answer... And oh yeah, a few bucks here and there and free beer is just an added bonus for me.

It really is complete awesome-ness. Best show on TV right now.. They are great about not concluding certain things and leaving the viewer anxious for the next episode. This sort of thing would usually annoy the crap out of me like it does with Lost, but Rescue Me is just too damn awesome..

True. I'm not sound engineer, but I've been around it most of my life. I'm sure they could have cut the hiss out easily in the mastering process.. so you're right, they almost had to leave it in intentionally.

That explains why there is that slight hiss sound at the beginning and end of each song. I always suspected it was an analog recording, and same with AGIB. Love the sound of those two records.. I assume the new album was recorded the same way?

That looks about like my apartment in Boston was. $1,100 a month in 2001. The only difference between his and mine was my kitchen and bathroom had their own "room". The living area looks about the same size.

I agree. I guess the stream is an attempt to get folks to start streaming it, instead of probing the net for the download... There are many folks out there that once they download it, they'll never buy it.
