  1. Yeah I love mine. I use it when I play with the Southern Rock/Classic Rock band. With So Called Star, I use a Peavey XXX played a through a Mesa Boogie Cab. That thing is a monster.
  2. I can dig. I think YHF, Being There, and Summerteeth are the cream of the crop for me, and I like them all equally.. The rest (SBS, AGIB, WTA, AM) are are all great albums, but just not in the same leauge as the others.
  3. That may be true, but I tend to agree with this guy. I've tried to rank the Wilco albums many times but just can't.. And I don't think I'm alone with this and that's why the rankings became a joke in the first place... My favorite Wilco album is the one I'm listening to. Catch my drift?
  4. Basically the rule of thumb for me is; if it's anything below 192 bitrate, then I will start hearing some loss in quality. Above that, there's VERY little difference. Yes, there is a slight difference in audible quality between 192 and 320, but it's really not noticeable unless you are listening with the best headphones ever known to man. But when you get down to 128 and below, there's definitely a noticeable difference.. Cymbal hits have sort of a "digital glitch" sound to them, and other louder sounds like distorted guitar start to blend together..
  5. Sorry, can't do that. But you can have the Bassman now for only 700 easy payments of $19.99!!!
  6. Wow, what a bargain! I have Fender Blues Deville which is sort of a reproduction of the original Bassman. I love it, and it's about $13,300 cheaper than an original Bassman!
  7. Thanks twigboyjoe. I think at the next mixing session (and hopefully final) I'm going to turn up the bass slightly to hopefully achieve a "beefier" sound. A few mixes ago, the bass was too beefy and folks were complaining that they had to turn the bass WAY down on their stereo's. Thanks for the feedback though, and glad you like!
  8. Agreed. Awesome! And, three songs from an album that hasn't even been released yet is fine by me. It's three more than they played in Asheville back in April.
  9. Just when I started using my awesome Billy Mays avatar... RIP Billy.. One of the best beards on television.
  10. Haha yeah, same here. A friend of mine has one. Sometimes when we're just jamming acoustically, he'll break it out.. It completely drowns out everyone else.. That thing is loud!
  11. "Classic, but fresh." I like that! Thanks for listening a.miller. We do have a "free handout" version that we've been handing out at shows. It's the full album, but with a cheap label and sleeve. Eventually were going to get it duplicated professionally (album art etc.), but I still have a couple small changes to make with the mix before we do that. Hopefully around that time, it'll get picked up by Nonesuch and we will begin touring with Wilco... Thanks again for listening. If you ever want a review of your material, let me know.
  12. Cancer: I lost an uncle to cancer two months ago, best friend's wife lost a grandfather, grandma's best friend died a few months ago.. One of my friends from highschool died of colon cancer a few years ago.. He was in his early 20's.. And that's just to name a few.. Cancer..... damn....
  13. Awesome performance. Probably my favorite Wilco talk show performance ever. They seemed to be having a blast, the band was tight, and the suits were great of course. Five stars.
  14. Yes!!! I feel your pain.. In fact, I'm just now finding your post because I didn't have time to click on each forum to find posts.. It was MUCH easier to just click the "view new posts" button. I know I don't have any room to complain (this is a free forum)... But I hardly come here anymore now because its too painful/tedious to find posts..
  15. This is awesome!! Never thought they would get back together.. One of the most influential bands of "indie rock" (and very underrated actually). Definitely going to try and make Atlanta.
  16. Now that's a campaign the band and I would fully support!

    Watt & Nels

He is the man. I remember seeing Watt a few years ago at a small place in LA. It's the only concert I've been to where the bass was so loud, it made my ears bleed.
  18. Thanks for listening Auther13! I'm glad you enjoy our music, especially enough to have it on repeat in your car. That means a lot to us. About the production; we actually recorded the whole thing in my spare bedroom. We used a great Pro Tools rig with some decent mics. There are a couple places on the record that bug me a little, but overall I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. The only downside of recording at your house, I lost a lot of sleep staying up late mixing it.. Our goals; we basically just want to continue to write/record albums and gig as much as we can. Exce
  19. I think he's sort of being funny, making the rock faces etc... But it's not bad at all. Good find.
  20. Good choice. Plus the DD-7 has that reverse function which is VERY cool. Our other guitarist uses the Boss RE-20 Space Echo. It's more of a reverb pedal than delay, but it has the "tape flutter" function. You can play a note, hold down the expression pedal, and it will sound like the note is being played fastforward.. Cool stuff.
  21. I use the Boss DD-3. It's a pretty simple delay pedal, level, feedback time, delay time, etc., but you can also get some crazy sounds out of it with the mode functions. Plus it's Boss so it'll last forever.. I've spilt beer on mine more than once..
  22. I would love for you to give it a listen. And if you like, we'd be grateful if you could add a review to your Music page. Shoot me an email to socalledstar@yahoo.com, and I'll send you the link.
  23. Thanks for listening Artifice. Not digging the keyboard twirl? hehe.. Yeah, our bass player (my wife) hates it too.. But the rest of the members liked it, so majority rules.. I guess we were going for the over-the-top, cheesy sound. But I'm sure you're not alone disliking it. We've been wanting to play out of state more. We've played several shows around the upstate of SC, but plan to venture out a little more. It's just tough to get into places when you are a newer band. Got any connections in Charlotte? Robert Pollard? You know, I've never really listened to him or Guided B
  24. No biggie, just thought I'd let you know. That's how I used to read the board, by pressing "View New Content" or the artist formally known has "View New Posts". That way you don't have to click each individual forum to find active topics.
