Am I the only one that got that?

You'd be surprised how many college kids request that song when I play gigs with my Classic Rock band. They request "Your Love", "Jessie's Girl", "Dead Or Alive", "Don't Stop Believing".. Just about every cheesy 80's rock song in the book. 80's cheesy rock is making a comeback..

Happy birthday my friend. Hope its a good one.

Going to Gettysburg 2nd week in April. We're also stopping in beautiful Harper's Ferry on the way. Can't wait... Gettysburg is like Disney World for history buffs like me.. And next year we'll probably do the Disney World for kids.. The real Disney world.

I guess I should have researched more. Thanks for clarifying that. I too will be purchasing on the day it comes out from a independent record store.. Shit, if I can even find one.. Most of them have closed down around here...

Yes, but the little article about YHF is worth reading... Nice article; it explains the reasoning behind the "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" sample at the end of "Poor Places'. I never knew that.

Interesting that it says release date April 28th on the US Amazon site. http://www.amazon.com/Ashes-American-Flags...5845&sr=8-1

True. Some nights, the chemistry is just off for bands.. I've seen it happen at a few shows. Whether its the sound, an obnoxious fan, there are many things that can cause a band to have a bad show.

Thanks for the info, I'm hoping my show will be a hit not a miss. But either way, I'm stoked about it.. And I can't stand it when musicians complain about the sound. Yes, Ryan Adams is famous for that... It always seems to be about "need more vocals in the monitors".. If you can't hear yourself, pop in some ear plugs. It works every time.. Stop whining..

Really? You don't hear the similarities? The high voice, the way he phrases a lot of his words. I definitely hear the influence.. But maybe its just me..

Got my Music Today tickets for the Asheville show. I've heard bad things about people not getting their tickets in time from MT, so it was a sigh of relief..

Top 3 most underwhelming bands/artists you've ever seen
lamradio replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Someone Else's Song
You're better off that you haven't heard them... Especially Papa Rouch.. It's funny, my band opened for Buckcherry a few years ago. They were all serious dick heads except for the singer. He was a friendly guy, but all he wanted to do was hacky sack with the other bands. It got annoying. -
I'm definitely going to the Asheville show. My wife and I are really getting into them. I think the singer sort of has the whole Brian Wilson thing going with his vocals.. I dig it. So who has seen these guys live?

Top 3 most underwhelming bands/artists you've ever seen
lamradio replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Someone Else's Song
Definitely a concert I will never forget. It was awesome to see them in such a small place. And they were very laid back about the whole thing. They came in a side door, walked through the crowd.. Every member was chugging a beer as they made their way to the stage. Rivers was pretty haggard, full beard and everything. They opened with "Tired Of Sex".. Also, Nerf Herder opened for them. Good times.. Good times.. -
I remember that, I was there. Jeff said "do you want us to keep playing the slow jams for ya?"

Which Bands have you seen the most live?
lamradio replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
I bet it was.. I was just getting into Nirvana when Kurt screwed the pooch, so I never got a chance to see them live. I've seen Weezer 4 times, but probably never will again. Wilco only 3 times (once in 97.. so I'm cool) and soon to be 4 Other than that, I've seen dozens of bands once. -
Happy birthday!

Top 3 most underwhelming bands/artists you've ever seen
lamradio replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Someone Else's Song
I actually really liked them until I saw them live... Maybe because they played a lot of stuff from their new album that hadn't been released yet.. Not a good album.. Not a good album at all.... -
REALLY starting to get into this band. Where the hell have I been the last 3 years or so.. They are excellent. I've been listening to "Everything All the Time" lately, good stuff.

Even though I wouldn't call what he says "poison" and I actually agree with some of the things he says, some people take him waaaaaay too seriously. They take everything he says "oh, since Rush said it, then it must be the truth" like a bunch of mindless animals...

How about concerts you had tickets for but never saw?
lamradio replied to John Smith's topic in Someone Else's Song
You know, I've been thinking hard.. I have been to probably close to 100 concerts, and there hasn't been a single concert that I have bought tickets for and had to miss... I know I don't belong in this thread but I just thought this was pretty remarkable. -
I agree.. I hate to go into a positive thread about Evil Urges and talk negative, but Evil Urges is a very weak album in my book. Too many clunkers on it. I find myself skipping around the tracks all the time, and to me that says its a weak record. I still wonder what the hell they were thinking by letting "Highly Suspicious" be publicly heard, live or on record.. Z is where its at. I can listen to that thing start-finish and never lose interest.
