Yeah, that last dude IS scary! Happy Birthday Caliber! Kudos to your geniushood in that intelligence test, BTW. Amazing!

He still has those gorgeous eyes. Gray hair and receding hairline are beautiful on this man, IMO. But I am a fangirl, always. He is a brilliant, brilliant artist. Happy Birthday PG! With Robert Fripp - another genius (I agree completely Mr. Yinz):

I'm enjoying this.

He read before The Redwalls took the stage as openers for Ryan Adams Jan 18th. He hasn't changed a bit. I still had no idea what he was saying. I have never "gotten" him. And I try. I close my eyes and listen really REALLY hard, and ... .... .... nothing.

Why do you say this, A-Man? (You are talking about Jay Farrar, right? Not Jason Isbell, who is also being talked about in this thread. Just makin' sure ... )
-
That April 20th show with Isbell opening - not sure about that. Drive-By Truckers are (according to their touring agency) supposed to be playing in Nashville on April 20th at Vanderbilt University.

Thank you owl! This is so very kind of you to host these often-asked-for Wilco files.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU MELISSA!

YES! I have seen him twice - once in Kalamazoo State Theater and again in Indianapolis at Clowes Hall (capacity 1500 and 2000 respectively). Both times the venues were sold out. I LOVE him! Go. He is funny as hell when he reads his own work. Both times I saw him, he spent at least half of the evening reading new pieces, things he's working on, once even a commencement speech he was preparing for Princeton's (read it here) -- the rest you may have heard if you've read everything he's published.

No, but the "mainly acoustic affairs" part sounds really interesting. DBT's without the permanent hearing loss sounds good to me!

... and Chicago at The Vic as well. I was a little on the fence about the tour as listed thus far, hopeful for a Michigan or Ohio show to materialize down the road -- but adding Jason Isbell as the Chicago opener cliched the deal for me! Nice!
-
.... and me too! You are gonna get so loaded! Have fun Allison!!!!

Adorable! Dr. Stringz indeed!

Then why at 4:40 in that clip does George Harrison's son, Dhani, have the biggest f'n smile on his face? Because Prince walked all over everybody?

Hmmmm. I do remember them causing the worst dang canchre sores, but that didn't stop us!

That's all he wrote? And was it Renic's Birthday? I can't keep track!

Happy Birthday ISL! Make a wish and cut that cake! Hope it was a good one!

Those giant SweetTarts in the early 70's (or so) were not chewy at all. They were just a regular SweetTart in consistency, only gigantic. A big hunk of purpley compressed sugar. Like a hockey puck! (Purple is best, but I also really like orange ) So now they're chewy like a gummy bear?

...for anyone interested: (which would be me, download-challenged person that I am ) Ryan Adams: Mercury Lounge 8.8.98 http://aquariumdrunkard.com/?p=954

It was raining on him during his half-time performance. That made me a little scared for him, like he could slip on the stage and fall. And couldn't he get some kind of electrical shock from his guitar? It just made me nervous, the rain.

It's not that implausible. I didn't know he was such a great guitarist until I actually SAW him play the guitar. And that happened way past the 80's for me (probably within the last 5 years). If you don't watch that much TV, and for me his music went outside of my radar at the time, for all I knew it was not even him on lead guitar. So when I finally SAW him play on TV a few years ago, I was pretty blown away. I had no idea. So, yeah.
