I'm not sure what you mean by marching robots, but Wilco also used to play this before shows: The Four Horsemen by Aphrodite's Child

Finally! took this out of my car CD player. I just love it so much (now waiting for Eef's other solo CD and a bunch of Clem Snide to arrive). And this just arrived and it's gonna keep me busy with 5 discs! 93 songs!!!

This slow day (Saturday) seems like a good time to close this more-than-50-page thread. Someone can start a NEW New new election thread. We'll leave this one with the last big news of the day:

Hope it's a great one! Whenever I see your screen name, I think of Rare Earth, and I was never a fan of Rare Earth, but today you own this song!

I know I talked to the guy in the white shirt because he was saying that Jay Bennett posted here at VC under the alias of John Smith. I didn't believe it (and still don't, BTW - I think John Smith is a legit poster who was quoting a Jay Bennett MySpace email but forgot to use the "quote function" so it looked like it was Jay writing it himself. Pretty funny though.) Oh, man, you're making it sound like I was stalking PJNC or something! Nah, I was just trying to make a connection because he mentioned that he was interested in knowing about the living room shows. Plus, undoubtedly he w

I love Jackson Hole! The pictures are all so beautiful! What you guys describe Brian Wilson like now, is exactly what I witnessed about 2 years ago seeing him on tour following the re-release of Smile. It was still a great show and, seriously, what a great band supporting him. So this seems to me to be his baseline status. And the Total Pros horn player does have a regular gig with Brian Wilson: http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=33825 Did anybody see Son Volt?

Yes, I have the old internet version of "Gift of Screws" too. And was surprised to see the new tracklist mostly devoid of the remaining unreleased songs from the old "Gift of Screws." I mean, ever since I heard the title of his new CD was going to be "Gift of Screws" I've been expecting it to sort of close a chapter on that older material. Oh well. Unless he has renamed some of them. So yeah. This new one should leak already. I listened to Out of the Cradle for the first time in a long while, and damn.

Thanks, A-Man, I added that info to the list. "Under The Skin," had two cover songs as well - the Donovan song noted above, and "I Am Waiting" from Rolling Stones Aftermath. Obviously a Stones fan.

Yes, we've discussed this topic before at VC, and so I searched on the word "religion" and here are some links to some previous threads on this subject which might shine some light on your discussion. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=28283 http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=24578 http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=24027

This is as best as I can figure it out right now, thanks to Wikipedia which seems pretty accurate. But there's a few songs still not officially released. Anyone? 1. Someone

I haven't listened to this, but here is link already. http://www.archive.org/details/mmj2008-08-16.mk21.flac16

It is cool. I confess, though - I had never seen it before tonight. Which is sorta surprising since I love TP, but I did quit watching MTV at some point in time (obviously before that was making the rounds). You'll have to ask the real man.

I sorta wandered around the fringe as well, sorry I didn't bump into you & Dude again, E-Sue. But there were a lot of people there! (understatement of the day). I had hoped to say hi to PearlJamNoCode, but there was absolutely no hope for that in the midst of that gigantic crowd of 10,000. It was a glorious night and Jim James was right ... the cosmos were to thank. Very, very amazing! I can't wait to see Paul's pix! Great hanging around with the Wilco buds especially Ms Yvon ... thanks for your great review and the wonderful company. Couldn't have been much more perfect.

We have some interesting opinions around here lately ... DBT are a step removed from Kid Rock? Neil Young isn't the kind of artist Wilco would want to be associated with? Jim James voice sounds like Chris Martin from Coldplay? It's really great that we're all different, though. It would be boring if we weren't.

A-man, please don't take offense that I started a new thread, but that last one was from Oct 2006, and was titled "New Lindsey Buckingham" ... and so I spent quite a bit of time reading it and getting more and more confused, until I realized it was all about "Under The Skin" from 2 years ago. So, IMO 2 years later a new thread for the new release is warranted. If anyone wants to read the old thread about the old 2006 release, it is here. New 2008 release is called "Gift of Screws". Gift of Screws Track List: 1. Great Day 2. Time Precious Time 3. Did You Miss Me 4. Wait For You 5.

I go back and forth with myself over listening to songs early vs waiting for the CD. I am old-school enough to enjoy and really miss the thrill of hearing a whole new album at once, all brand-new to my ears. Yet I know today is different. Songs are road-tested, and pre-released for advertising reasons, etc., and then the album leaks early oftentimes with sub-par audio quality MP3s, and by the time I get the whole new album to my ears, it's just less fun. I'm sure the band is anxious to play new stuff, get audience response, etc. And I do love to hear new songs played live if I'm there fo

Nothin' to apologize for, ... that info was sorta buried in the radio station thread. So hope you don't mind I added the quote and moved the comments about the new album to this thread. Yay for new album news!

Since this thread is sorta about "Jeff Tweedy on WAMC, Listen online. "It's Wilco Hour!" ... head over to the billboard article thread if you want to comment on the billboard article. This just seems to be buried in this WAMC thread, that's all. Billboard thread http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=36658
