I'm with you, Mr. Huxtable. Steak-N-Shake and their 24-hour-ness makes them a frequent target for a late-night after-show road-trip coffee and food pitstops. Best fries, IMO. Great burgers. And shakes? Hell yes. Cheap? No. Fast? No.

Reading this review gave me goosebumps and put a big smile on my face! For YOU Mart!! I'm so happy for you to be at this show as it must have been so completely thrilling, DANG! I can't even imagine! I mean, you were so excited just talking about the show I attended. And look what you got!!!!!!!???????!!!!!! Damn! Tony Bennett? And then Prince ! ? !

I enjoyed reading that. Glenn is a great writer in addition to all his other talents. ... and a good-deed-doer as well!

Birthday Saturday? Nice!!! Have a wonderful day, Brianne!
-
... and an update from Second City: http://www.secondcity.com/news.php?id=617 OK, now I'm really excited. I have never seen The Blisters before. Bitter Tears, yes, and they're a lot of fun.

My favorite part is always the oyster stuffing ... and the "turkey cookies" which are turkey-shaped sugar cookies with sort of ugly brown food coloring frosting. Man, we need an artist in this family.
-
Blossom!!!! I was just saying to some of the people PM'ing me that you might stop by.
-
I just got back from a week's vacation there. Saw Calexico Nov 3 as well! For free! I graduated from U of A way back when, so I agree 100% with your cheers about Tucson. What a great place.
-
Me too!

A friend of mine who lives in the suburbs of Chicago and has a nice big basement would like to host a show. If there's enough people there might just be another group bidding this year. More money for the charity, right? PM me if you are interested in joining a group. We'll see what materializes.

I should have known when he originally posted it in TTL. Tricked again! Carry on ... have fun!

is it still about Sigur Ros selling out? I honestly haven't read it all but just offering up my services ... like I said .. if it's lost it's meaning etc. No big deal, here Kev.

Hookers again. Every thread that veers vastly off topic always ends up being about hookers. What's up with that? I can lock this thread if it's lost its meaning. The original poster, Treehugger something, would likely never do that since he likes to argue around and around etc. A lot. What say you all? Edit: OK, hookers or porn

So meeting you BOTH at the Steve Earle show was a rare event, eh? Yeah, I did get tix for Jon Brion, but I might be in Tucson. Plans are in the air. If I am in Tucson, here's what I'll be doing a few days before NYE: TUCSON, AZ: Calexico Friday Dec 28, 2007 ( KXCI Radio Benefit - Temple of Music & Art - Tucson AZ - The annual year-end home-town concert to benefit KXCI Community Radio - featuring Calexico and friends! ) http://www.casadecalexico.com/tours

Which Fillmore is that? They just renamed a venue in Detroit to be "The Fillmore" ... But I think I recall you are in Denver, no?
-
Where will you be on NYE? IN ATLANTIC CITY, NJ: Elvis Costello and the Imposters - House of Blues in Showboat Casino Tix: http://tix.concertmaps.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=10 Or: http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/02003F68D2DA6FE7 IN CHICAGO: Jon Brion any others?

Hope it's a glorious one!

I don't know anything about her other than to come across bad press related to her addiction. Does she write the songs she sings? EDIT: Nevermind - I realized I could look it up in Allmusic.com. She did, with help from others on about 1/2 of her 2006 release.

FYI: We're always late in this area, Northeast Indiana / Northwest Ohio. Wilco's performance is airing tomorrow night (Fri Nov 16) at 11:00 pm on WFWA channel 39 (Comcast cable channel 3) in case anyone reading this gets that channel. ... and the Arcade Fire ACL show airs the following Friday night (Fri. Nov 23) at 11:00 pm Finally it's our turn!

17,500 I believe.

None of the auction "items" have been announced for 2007 as far as I can see on the Second City website. Maybe we'll see a post from Sue soon with the details. *crosses fingers*

It was certainly a bonehead comment. Seinfeld seemed quite stunned by it and I don't blame him for ribbing King as he did. I didn't read it as overtly egotistical.
