  1. FYI: I merged 3 similar threads together (all about the same topic -- hearing Wilco played in stores and restaurants and wherever) so I do apologize for any lack of continuity. Back to topic: Fort Wayne's first Chipotle will open in a few days, so I think we'll be hearing some Wilco around here soon.
  2. I have to admit -- I admire those of you who get burned and still stick around. Welcome to VC MadMonkey! .
  3. Oh, this is fantastic!!! I've listened to a few songs but work beckons ( ). Thanks again Liz for keeping us updated on this. I love it! Without a doubt, I'll be listening tonight after work. I finally hooked up my Bose Wave CD/radio thingy to my computer, so now everything on my PC plays through those speakers! It's a whole new listening experience now. OK, really. I have to work. Wait ... maybe just listen to "15 Hands" ... and then work.
  4. Although Chicago restaurants are not typically "Wilco-related," for February's residency shows they (and hotels) are pretty big topics for Fans. So I just opened this restaurant thread from the hotel thread to keep it separate. Carry on! I'm a big fan of any sushi restaurant, but I love Sushi Wabi on Randolph.
  5. I've never warmed up to Leno either. I'm a Letterman fan all the way. Sorta like I won't drink a Pepsi but I'm happy with a Coke.
  6. You and your math. Thanks for bringing me down, man. And PS - they don't think my demographic is scary at all! Yours, however, is suspicious.
  7. Well, there's another perk to being over 50.
  8. new song up at Matador Records ... http://www.matadorrecords.com/mpeg/stephen...s_baltimore.mp3 ... and yep, John Vanderslice is opening on all these dates. Nice.
  9. Me too!!! Harry on The Ghost and Mrs. Muir? Unbelievable. But this is one of my fav's though
  10. Condolences to Natalie's family and friends. Just reading over the posts here makes it abundantly clear that she was so well liked -- it's really impressive and inspirational how many people she befriended, how many people cared for her. Like Beltmann said, I always figured there would be a day when I would meet Natalie IRL. But we all can take comfort in the words she left behind here at VC. I credit her for introducing me to Beulah back when I was new here. Over time it became clear that our musical tastes coincided (Beulah, XTC, The Decemberists, Robyn Hitchcock, etc) so I always keenl
  11. I'm likin' that Saturday night at The Vogue in Indy!
  12. Many people say the same thing about The Shins live shows. You may love their recorded songs but their live show just isn't very exciting. Of course no one expects Jay to be any other kind of entertainer than he is. He's true to himself and his music, and I admire him for that. And it seems like he does try, he is just not animated in any way.
  13. Hope you're out having a happy wonderful birthday, Edie!

    New Year's Eve

    ... perhaps our favorite drummer?
  15. woah dave -- you got lucky. There's zero tickets at Ticketmaster now. Did you buy yours at The Vic?
  16. I remember him from several Rogue Wave shows I attended over his tenure with them ... He worked the merch table at one show and we chatted a bit, mostly about being Hoosiers. Nice guy and a real character. He always made the funniest faces and said funny things onstage. So so sad! Evan is the one with the holey jeans. ...
  17. Lammycat, I hope your birthday today is wonderful!
  18. Hope your birthday is everything you ever dreamed of!
  19. If you want to trade or buy or sell tickets, go here: "How to Fight Loneliness"
  20. per wikipedia: I remember Ray saying (at his solo show at The Vic in Chicago 1-2 years ago) that he was working with Dave, and he mentioned the same struggle of Dave not being able to sing and play at the same time. So *crosses fingers*
  21. (((((((((((( Comforting VC vibes heading your way )))))))))))))
  22. Per Patterson Hood in his newsletter to fans last week: Wow - 19 songs is a lot! Nice to hear your positive report on it, Kyle. I like Shonna's singing from what I've heard on the MySpace page.
