I'm not familiar with that venue. But I agree - I very much liked the Kalamazoo location. I have to wonder if it really will be rescheduled.

Jen PM'd me yesterday that she saw an I&W/Califone show listed on April 18 at the Royal Oak in Detroit. So venue change? AEG/ClearChannel-owned venue? I don't know.

Tom, I can't add much to the setlist from my memory at this point except that for "I Will Write My Book" it was just Joe & his guitar, no band. YouTube of Joe Henry playing and talking about his album "Civilians".

That's what the audience last night said as well - to which he replied, "I've done all I can for her." It was really a great show. And it was longer than 1 hour, more like 1-1/2 including the encores, no? But yes - great songs, great musicianship, great banter. I have to thank Ms Yvon for first introducing me to Joe Henry. Very recent interview in the Detroit Free Press: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...310319/1039/ENT

Thanks for these two songs! I was in line early with my friends (Jason and his son, Jack, from Indianpolis) when Susan Tweedy came to the front of the line asking for requests. I requested "Cars Can't Escape" and when Jack couldn't think of a song title on demand, I suggested he ask for "Family Gardener." However, I had no influence over Jason, who knew exactly what he wanted to hear - "Passenger Side"

Happy Birthday Robert! We're missing you around these parts lately.

I love the "Bubba" story. Funniest thing ever. And I really like the High School Reunion story. A classic. Favorite songs? Cars Can't Escape, Pieholden Suite, and Muzzle of Bees

Nice!!!!!!!! Congrats! Gotta love XRT for these amazing private shows. -
This was in an email I received not long ago from USA Today, about good restaurants that won't break the bank. I've been to exactly none of them.

Theshua, I'm making you work for this one -- it's been mentioned twice already in this thread.

Morgan, sounds like an incredible first RA show! They did Easy Plateau to close? That's pretty sweet, one of my favorite songs because of the playful multi-part harmonies. And you got front row all night long? Nice!!! That same thing actually happened to me at the Univ of Ill show in Champaign-Urbana. Not sold out, not even a very big venue (Foellinger), but several front row seats were empty and nobody complained when I moved up there. From what I understand, he doesn't always do the meet & greet & sign thing, although he did in Kalamazoo when Leo, Mary, and I saw him la

Wow, DawgSong, I totally missed seeing this news when you posted it in December. Congrats on winning - it's a beautiful looking guitar, and so good of you to donate extra to the charity anyway. And OU Chad - I'm with Cryptique - thanks for these videos.

That's where I remembered him, too, once I saw his face. I wasn't a Brady Bunch watcher, but Andy Griffith? Definitely. I still watch it in reruns.

If my friend from SF wasn't flying in for 15&16 shows, I would consider foregoing one night. But I'm interested to catch him at some point in the future. Can't wait to actually buy this CD.

http://www.archive.org/details/RyanAdams Click on that link, and look at the bottom right corner of the screen. It shows the most popular downloaded Ryan Adams shows at archive.org. So if numbers speak well about the show, check out the ones everyone seems to like. I love that Ryan Adams allows such free access to his soundboard for tapers, and such free access to the files via Internet Archive to the fans. I wish Wilco would decide to do this. I agree, the sound is amazing. Such great tapers out there too.

I was really close to making another trip to Tucson to see a friend, and hoped to be in town for this RA show, but plans fell apart. Report back to us about the show, okay? I was just there over Halloween and got to see Calexico at Reid Park which was great seeing them in their home town. So hopefully the next trip there will include another great show. Dang it, I love Tucson.

Really unfortunate, for me anyway, that's the first night of the Wilco Riviera shows.

quarter23cd - I'd be interested to know which shows you're listening to, because I agree with you, the live shows are amazing. Here's one I'd recommend from the more acoustic shows (added Jamie Candoloro on keys, Ryan vocals only due to wrist injury) Ryan Adams Live at Brown Theater (Louisville, KY) July 11, 2007 http://www.archive.org/details/ryanadams2007-07-11.sbd.flac And one more electric from when he was back playing guitar again (I have not heard this, but I was there ) Ryan Adams Live at Murat Theatre (Indianapolis, IN) October 24, 2007 http://www.archive.org/d
