  1. SXSW - My Morning Jacket - NPR webcast Late Thursday night (midnight Eastern time, 11 pm Central) http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...toryId=19090565 These new songs are great! I can't wait to read Ms Yvon's review from last night!!!
  2. laurie, maybe we did meet at the Vic. I'm terrible with names but I'd remember your face, I'm sure. Next time you see me, be sure to say hi and hopefully I can "get with the program." But was that your husband sitting on a bucket or a laundry basket or something? No, I arrived in Chicago very sick, and continued to be pretty dang sick all week long. I only went to Fat Cats on Monday night and enjoyed a rousing round of "D'yer Mak'er" with some VC'ers. On Wednesday night, my brother who is a Wilco newbie was with me, and I didn't think he'd be into the Wilco VC fan thing

"thechnology" Sorry. Couldn't resist. Totally busting on you, man. Really though, there's no right or wrong here. It's personal preference. And desiring to burn a live show to CD is not indicative of being "lo-thech" IMO. Just different storage and listening practices. My hunch is that not everyone wants every live show on their iPods. I don't. And I don't want to keep it on my hard drive. So I burn to discs.
  4. VERY late to the game, I am. I'm no good at catching these serial shows as they air each week, but this one has just had way too much good buzz for me NOT to check it out, and then ABC.com made that happen real easily. So until I get caught up, I will not read this thread. I'm obsessively watching "Lost" on ABC.com, now on Season 3, episode 3. So I have quite a few episodes still left. Addicting!!! Getting no sleep!
  5. (I moved in a few post-show comments from the "Just a Fan" section Houston roll-call thread, so please excuse any resulting lack of continuity, as the board just organizes the posts chronologically. ) Ms Yvon meets atticuspoongoogler!?!?! Hey - did he have long wavy golden hair and look up at you with sad puppy dog eyes? That's how I imagine him. And "When you Wake Up Feeling Old" !!!??!!??!!! Niiice! Cool story about the new teen fans getting up front.
  6. ... and I moved any relevant post-show comments from here to this "after the show" thread. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=34249
  7. Hey, what about me! I stood in line for a couple of hours with you and Rob before the JT solo benefit show at the Vic in January. (I was there with my friend Jason and his son from Indianapolis.) I'm catching up on threads here, having fun reading these lists. I've met so many VC'ers over the years I can't even begin to list them or I'm sure to leave somebody off as well. But I love ya'll! You're a great bunch of people.

I love how you added the poster for that night. Just gorgeous! Thank you !!!
  9. All I remember seeing at the Riv shows was the CD and the CD/DVD (I don't remember the prices) -- but definitely get the DVD one if you don't own any yet. I would have picked up the Tour Edition if they had it. I attended the 1st show of the road tour in Lakewood (Cleveland), but did not survey the swag table* *with the exception of buying the Lakewood light bulb poster twice because someone swiped my first poster off the floor of the pit. And then I find that Heads of State used the same design but changed colors for the 9:30 Club DC shows to have a black background
  10. Woah! Rock tourism!!!! Enjoy the show
  11. I saw one on eBay today ... it will cost you but it might be worth it to complete the set. Did you check with J4Lackey?
  12. ! Congrats! They are really good photos. I imagine just being there at that cool little Stuart's Opera House with members of Arcade Fire was sweet, but this is the proverbial icing on your cake!
  13. All right then. More concert tickets for us!
  14. So Ms Yvon, what's the scoop on MMJ touring anytime soon? I'm admittedly too lazy to look it up and figured you would know.
  15. Man, IMO that's about the highest compliment a band could receive. Congrats to Nashville fans for seeing what sounds like a damn great show! Thanks, Darkstar, for asking about the videotaping! The reporting of a documentary in the making is pretty exciting.

    SNL!

I love the suit. I'll never forget when he wore it the first time - in Columbus OH last fall. I was in 2nd row pit center. When the band first took the stage, Nels tripped over something and totally flew across the stage and I thought, oh shit, the show is over. But he made a heroic save and then right behind him, Jeff walks in wearing the Nudie suit ... Jeff: "He couldn't handle the suit."

    SNL!

Agree! I hope people stayed tuned in long enough to see it, though.

    SNL!

Maybe this next skit will be funny.
  19. ... but then you locked it yourself. Sorry to ruin your big funny. But not taking the heat for this one. I think we've had enough this week, thank you.

    SNL!

Was he in the d**k in the box skit though? That was the funniest skit in years, IMO.
  21. Ditto here too. I really loved reading your posts at the Jay Farrar forum. You are passionate about Wilco and are obviously as big a fan as they get. So let's start over with new topics, new posts, and show everybody here what some of us have seen to be a really cool guy who has a lot to offer, and move on past this worn-out topic.
  22. ... and here (GloNo) At this point, ellsworth, your complaints need to be directed elsewhere. Send a letter to Wilco's management to register your complaints. Here's a link to contact them. http://wilcoworld.net/info/index.php
