  1. I think the pitch video got pulled from YouTube, but the interview is still up... what gives?
  2. A day late to the thread... but wanted to wish you a very happy Birthday, Vanessa! Kevin
  3. That was a difficult read, but I'm encouraged that Dani is making progress. And while she will very likely never be a "normal" child, she is with a family that clearly cares for her and shrouds her in love. I hope that in, say, 10 years, the reporter revisits this family for an update on Dani. Kevin
  4. Looks like some folks have hijacked the song request website: Jeez louise, just when I thought I'd actually get to hear "Dreamer in my Dreams" again, someone or something had to go throw a turd in the punch bowl. Vote early and often. Kevin
  5. Does bell use little blue pills in his craft beers, I wonder?
  6. Junebug,I'm guessing Chipotle has obtained all the necessary ABC permits by now... but didn't want to assume anything. I had lunch there when they first opened. Can you confirm if they serve alcohol there now? K
  7. This was one of the best shows I've ever been to. It was like a great big birthday party. I wrote a bit about it on my blog the day after that captured the feeling of the show. (link below) It was the most fun I've ever had, and it didn't require chemicals. TTL
  8. I can vouch for Hibernian. It's good. I still haven't heard back from the local Wilco poss
  9. Quoth the Raven: "Nevermore"
  10. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?sho...t&p=1070738 Start reading at Isadorah's post and you can get a good idea... It was a Nasty crowd up there in the balcony. Capital N, Nasty. Kevin
  11. I had a couple of those going myself. (and one where I was getting my ass handed to me by a very gifted Scrabulous player, MJ) Farewell indeed.
  12. Agreed. I do hope that the presence of seats doesn't turn the show into a SEATED show. I'm scarred from the Upper Darby experience, and really don't want to repeat that, ever.
  13. According to the box office personnel, they aren't going to allow folks to rush the stage as in years past. Time was, a lawn pass holder could simply post up near the stage once the show began, thus maddening those people that had purchased reserved seats. This happened at the Bob Dylan show a few years back, and security gave up trying to police the situation and just let it be. It's a great venue, but I find I'm really wishing it were General Admission, despite having a kick ass seat. (Thanks again Tamala!) Kevin
  14. Back atcha, Dr. Canuck & Stickman. Kevin
  15. It *was* a great set! The "Eyeball Kid" mime was brilliant. In the ATL podcast, you can here some guy shouting: "GO DEEP!" near the end. There's a great You Tube video of what he's doing that was recorded at one of the Parisian shows Seen here. Kevin
  16. Oh, that would be the North Carolina Museum of Art. Koka Booth is about the same size, I suppose, but with less lawn space. Kevin
  17. No, actually it's much smaller. I'd much rather see them here than at Walnut Creek. Tryon isn't so commercial, actually, but you can find loads of stuff on Kildaire Farm. Most of the places to eat / drink will be going towards downtown Cary on Kildaire. Kevin
  18. The Atlanta concert has been made available by the fine fine folks at NPR. Lossy, yes, but by all accounts it sounds fantastic! more here
  19. I was at their sold out show last night at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro. It was a great deal of fun, and quite a departure from the traditional "rock" shows I frequent. No doubt about it, nearly everyone in the room was enamored with Z. I think there actually may have been more women at that show than men, which was refreshing. What wasn't refreshing was the crowd compression as the show started, but that's with any GA show. They pretty much played the entire album. There were a couple of covers, one was by Joni Mitchell, the other I don't know. They also performed a new song that Zooey
  20. The venue is a nice little place. It's not like the big amphitheaters in the way of Walnut Creek. It seems rather intimate when compared to Walnut Creek, actually. There will be folding chairs on the lawn for this one. I cringed when I found that out, but the distance from the stage to the back line of concessions / reserved tables is not all that great, hence the "intimate" feel to the place. There are places to eat and drink fairly close by. There is a place called Lucky 32 on Tryon (Never been) but there are several more places up the road around the intersection of Tryon and Kildaire
  21. There is still this post in the Got Extras section: http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=36230 Best of luck to you, K
  22. This is the point in the thread where you say "What ain't no country I've ever heard of!" I need to pop that DVD to help let off some post deadline steam.
  23. These two cats turn satire upside down and shake the sh!t out of it. This is the video response to the New Yorker Cover. As you were.
