  1. Sure thing. He's upstairs (like the Cantina entrance) literally one door down from CC. He'll likely have a wooden sandwich board sign on the sidewalk front advertising. That's how I found him. K
  2. VD, are you in Durham, NC per chance? If on the off chance you are, check out Chaz' Records (Not 100% on the name) that is right next to the Cosmic Cantina off of 9th Street. He has some pretty cool vinyl there, new and old. kevin
  3. Latest floating 'foot' turns out to be a hoax It's old hat.
  4. The latest foot was ruled a HOAX. Still doesn't explain the other 5... This is total David Lynch material. kevin http://www.barefooters.org/ Have at it. The next thing you know you'll be listening exclusively to Jack Johnson.
  5. I'm working on my own "Electric Mud". 18" of mountain mop! A Field Guide To Rock and Roll Hair Styles
  6. What shows are you hitting up? I'll be in Knoxville, Birmingham, and Atlanta. Can't wait! K
  7. Man-0-man... This is setting the bar pret-tee high when it comes to speedy delivery! Last night's show is already up on DIME: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=201574 By all accounts it sounds good! I'm at work at the moment, and can not verify. Cheers! Kevin
  8. Hi there... I wasn't at the show, myself. But you may find more reviews, comments, etc. at the eyeball kid blog or through the Raindogs list, if you're so inclined. cheers, Kevin

  10. With the price of petro-diesel fuel at 4.79 (and no bio-Diesel in this town) I'm asking the question: "Can I work from home at least once a week?" in the one-on-one meeting with my manager, today. Fingers crossed, Kevin update: the jury is out... but there are 3 of us who have ea. requested the same. It looks promising!
  11. Loved The National's set, due in large part because I'm more familiar with their last 2 albums than with Modest Mouse's catalog, but I enjoyed MM as well. I gotta say though, I felt that the National could have gone as the single opening act, and that would have suited me fine. But it was awesome to get to see Johnny Marr play, and later join R.E.M. on stage for "Fall on Me". I'm still processing the show, and haven't really written much on it, but maybe I'll post a link back in After the Show once I do. Kevin PS: just a few more songs to play at my funeral: Tom Waits' "Take it Wi
  12. After last night's R.E.M. show... I'd definitely like to add "Find the River" in the mix.
  13. Was this the same girl that appears to "read" high-brow books?
  14. I feel your pain on the Archives. It's dark down there in the dungeon. Like a coal mine, even. But to make this post relevant, Yes, I do prefer the Demo version to the official EP release. It's the one that I heard first, and it just kinda stuck on the first listen. Cheers, Kevin
  15. I hear you bro. I can only pull off a 2 disc config. myself (which admittedly is pretty cool). My cats freak the 'eff out on that one track with the high/low frequencies coming out of each speaker. The one time I've heard it in its full glory was years ago, at a party out in the middle of the woods. There were 4 battery powered boom boxes set up in a North-South-East-West fashion, all focused to a central point. It was mind-altering... or that could have been the smoke. But it was unlike anything else I had ever heard. Still is. Kevin
  16. I just got around to making my request for Cary, and DiMD was the only song I considered. It was a jewel at the Residency, though I agree with Greg it could have been taken up a notch. Here's hoping they'll treat us in Cary! kevin
  17. No doubt about it, for me it's: Life's Rich Pageant
  18. Are you thinking of Zaireeka? It requires 4 stereos.
  19. John Vanderslice is quite possibly the nicest musician ever. I got a chance to talk to him at a small club show on Duke campus last year. How they got him to play there is a mystery to me-- it was a very small space. I'm glad JV doesn't fit the title to this thread... "Emerald City" still is high in my iPod rotation. Kevin
  20. "Abandoned Love" Dylan (an outtake from Desire) "The Night" Morphine I'm sure if I applied myself, I could come up with a whole slew of 'em... Kevin
  21. I'm not biting. I think it's fine as is. I'm sure there are VC denizens who have yet to purchase YHF... so have at it.
  22. I find the usage of the words "quick makeover" suspect.
  23. [source article] Neil Young is making tech headlines again, following his appearance last month at the JavaOne conference. This time the legendary Canadian rocker is getting attention for his collaboration with Johnathan Goodwin of H-Line Conversions to transform a 1959 Lincoln Continental into a hybrid electric vehicle. Young had initially intended to have his vintage Lincoln converted to biodiesel, but the Farm Aid co-founder quickly gained interest in hybrid electric technology after talking with Goodwin about other such projects. "With all this talk about gas, people are saying we sh
