Great choice on the Star Room Boys! I heart that album. It's gotten a new lease on life just recently when I finally got around to importing into my iTunes. As for me... when I get a spare moment and can bother to cue up 2 different CD players... I'm trying different combinations of:

Poo, I mean FOO Fighters Rider from TSG
bigshoulders replied to bigshoulders's topic in Someone Else's Song
I know, the nerve! But seriously, one of the things that drove Kurt to kill himself was the phoney-ness of the music industry. I don't remember details of his suicide letter (probably avail. at TSG now that I think about it) but I think he was sick of it all. Have you read the Rider? It's pretty ridiculous IMHO, but then again... I guess promoters have to pay to play. -
7 Songs from "Boys Don't Cry" (^_^) Very nice!

Wedgie threats, fat roadies highlight hilarious Foo Fighters rider MAY 13--We're not sure who authored the Foo Fighters 2008 tour rider--frontman Dave Grohl, the production manager, a witty roadie--but whoever is responsible for the document deserves much praise. The rider, an excerpt from which you'll find below, is filled with jokes about flatulence, fat roadies, leftovers from "last night's Dio show," and the provision of "big ass kielbasas that make men self conscious." While we've used red arrows to point out some of our favorite lines, a close read of the rider is suggested, since we'v

If it's on wikipedia, it's definitely true. How that album slipped by my radar is unknown to me... I should seek that one out. I've always heard + things about BPB. k

Wilco errata, trivia, stats, and other mild obsessions

My friend Mary had a dream once that she and Jeff shared the same birthday. Upon waking and remembering her dream, she thought enough to google it, and, sure enough, they DO share the same birthday. True story. k -
You're taking this way too personally.

Muchos Gracias! k -
Jules: So this is the part of the thread where you try to get me to say: "What?" Right?

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, on and off-list. It's shaping up to be a pretty good one so far, except for this pesky 4-letter word that starts with a "W". Oh well... there's plenty of Mexican beer in the fridge when I return home! Thanks, all. Kevin

I caught a condensed set of Steve Earle at last year's ACL. About 50% was performed with a DJ. It was rather weird. I have yet to purchase Washington Square, probably b/c I don't have the patience for it to grow on me. Too much other great music out there that diverts my attention. I'd be willing to see Steve again... just want to see if the DJ thing is a phase or not. Just being honest, k

There's already been loads of chatter about Waits playing Ireland... so that's why I'm not certain this is an announcement strictly for NA.

You never can tell with Waits.

What did you say? I can't hear you. Seriously, their amps go to Eleven, and then some. Many more happy returns, Louie. k
