My god, the Marlins* just imploded in the bottom of the 9th yesterday. *and by Marlins I mean their closer Ramos. That was one of the worse performances by a closer I have seen all year.

I am a party insider, given the prestige as a Super-delegate. Who should I pledge my support for? A long time Democrat, who has been groomed for this job for the last two decades? Or should give it to a Senator who is not a democrat and other than voting with my party in the Senate does nothing to help or fund raise? I am surprised that what the DNC did in the primaries is such a big deal or that much of a shock to people. Bernie is NOT a Democrat, he is an independent. Of course the superdelgates weren't going to support him. Of course the Democratic machine is going to be against h

And he still will get 45% of the vote

Interesting in the week post convention there is been nary a peep from the Clinton / Kaine team. Have the even been out on the campaign trail? Are they giving Trump enough rope to hang himself? I fear if they give him too much he could land safely on the ground.

Why do people think the party system is some sort of democracy? The political parties are private entities who can conduct their nominations really anyway they please. There is nothing in the Constitution about the primary process. Sure there is an illusion of democracy in the primaries, with the whole voting thing, but that is about it.

sorry, fixed in orginal post and here http://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-36950083 But to the point I was making about Trump and in regards to the super delegates and Bernie, etc. Regardless if you think the Dem process was rigged because of super delegates or not (BTW it wasn't, but that is discussion for another time). Trump is now convinced that general election is rigged against him. He is probably saying this because of the debate schedule (which is BS for several reasons) or the some other weird conspiracy. Like all of Trump's statements it was specific enough to get attent

Well the election apparently is rigged http://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-36950083 This line of thinking is very troublesome. On its surface it could be seen as an excuse for Trump not winning the election. He began to use this line when it looked like he may not win the primary too. But deeper it will be the first time in modern history where the loser of the election will not accept the decision of the American people (I am including the 2000 election in this, that even though the election was battled in court Gore eventually accepted the results). As crazy as Trump and his sup

In April Hixter said this: But of course that was back in April. Who knows if he has or will change his mind after the recent comments, especially the Russia stuff. If memory serves he was always going on about Russia. Though it appears he has not been around here since early June. It is too bad. Although I disagreed with him greatly, he was smart and passionate. Also really interested if he feels the same way he did 3 months ago.

Joe Maddon, a freaking wizard. Fitting on Harry Potter's birthday

But he is gonna keep us safe from the immigrants. How is this election so close?
-
As horrible as that is, I don't think it will change anyone's mind who were going to vote for Trump. But it just goes to the character of that man. Though lying about the NFL. That is something that just is not done in this country. http://deadspin.com/nfl-says-donald-trump-is-full-of-shit-never-sent-lette-1784589912

Lucroy vetoes trade to Indians, interesting.

This is the man people want in charge of our nuclear codes and military? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-threat-hit-democrats_us_579b6724e4b0693164c0e3d6 Honestly people think that is good idea. He scares me more than any of the people he wants to keep out.

Thoughts on the Democratic National Convention

The NBC talking are being pretty savage to Clinton. Interesting. Though I do agree the speech was pointed towards progressives rather than bringing in the disillusioned republicans out there. But I guess what did they expect? It was a deeply different speech from Trump's. In tone, tenor and demeanor. -

"I believe in science" is apparently something you need to say as presidential candidate in 2016 -

I just found out a guy I went to high school with went on a hunger strike because Hillary is the nominee instead of Bernie. Apparently he is delegate. He was a nut case in high school and apparently he still is. http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/wisconsin-delegate-goes-on-hunger-strike-for-bernie-sanders-b99767550z1-388182622.html -
In theory that would be great, but you forgot about those rubes out there who actually believe what Trump says. And hates the media with such a passion anything they say against Trump is a liberal conspiracy. I guess say Crooked Hillary enough times and she magically gets put in jail. Kinda like a weird version of Beetlejuice. Trump has done a great job tapping into the fears of the American people. His immigration "plans" are nothing more then xenophobic rhetoric, meant to play on American's inability to actually understand the complexities we face as a nation. And I am sure Trump is

Just in this election alone compare her treatment to that of Trump. If anyone has gotten a free pass so far it is Trump.

Also BTW she was asked about in on Jul 7th on CNN http://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2015/07/07/hillary-cnn-intv-email.cnn Also on Meet the Press http://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/video/full-interview--hillary-clinton-on-meet-the-press-533201475511 You make it seem like Clinton is getting a free pass by the press, just because she is not doing press conferences. She has testified in front of congress numerous times. The questions about this have been asked, the questions have been answered. With a few moments of using google I have found where the press has asked her these questions.

Anyone gonna miss Obama? That is how you give a speech. -
The GOP controlled congress has done a pretty good job of asking questions, and the media has reported extensively on Benghazi, email, etc. BTW all cleared by the FBI and congress. Whereas Trump's lies have been largely ignored. Remember when he said the President of the United States was not born in this country? And he has proof. He has not apologized for this. This accusation needs to be answered. It should be the first thing every reporter asks.

The press has no balls. The press is a joke. This will be forgotten about. Just like: 1) He is a birther 2) He won't release his taxes 3) He has re-tweeted and uses untrue facts from neo-racist websites and sources 4) He has spread dangerous anti-vax propaganda 5) He has regularly encouraged violence against those who oppose him 6) He has made fun or denigrated people with disabilities, minorities, etc. I could go on, but it is pointless. If it where any other candidate they would be toast. We are living in a post truth world here.
-
I am pretty sure he was trying to make a joke. A pretty stupid one that is true. But he has to know that calling for a foreign entity to hack a rival's email could be seen in a poor light if not treasonous. Who knows with this man? But if it was a joke or if it was a real call to the Russians, show that this man does not have the judgement to be president. We cannot have a president grabbing his phone and saying or retweeting every damn fool thing that comes to his head. The presidency is a serious job. He clearly has not taken running for president seriously. And if he really wants t

Good to see there is pressure back on Trump to release his tax returns. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-wont-release-taxes_us_5798b8d7e4b02d5d5ed39dbb The Audit Defense is BS, . Without the release the public should assume he has something to hide. I hope the press continues pressure him on this. Also it was nice to see Franken take the press to task on their coverage of Trump. http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow/watch/al-franken-s-challenge-make-lies-matter-732158531941 I hope they hear his words and go after him. His lies should have been pointed out and he should h

No love for Bill Clinton last night? Say what you will about him, but he can give a hell of a speech.
