  1. I have come to realize over the last couple of months that Bernie supporters believe that he has descended from heaven above to do what is right and Hillary is just pure evil and will continue to push our country further to the path of a corporate oligarchy. And heaven forbid, if you happen to question what Sander's purposes you are labeled similarly. In many ways Sanders and Trump two sides of the same coin.
  2. Are you sure that is not the score of the Giants v Broncos game? As for the Cubs, they are firing on all cylinders right now. The pitching has been outstanding and the offense is incredible. Interesting article from 538 on how truly dominant the Cubs are right now. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-cubs-start-is-even-more-dominant-than-it-seems/
  3. It appears that Donald Trump no longer gives a f*ck. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/728297587418247168 Ladies and Gentleman the your presumptive Republican nominee.
  4. That is my point. When you obtain a certain level of prosperity and power, whomever the president is doesn't really matter. She can weather a Trump presidency far better the middle class or the poor can. She shows a very stupid and callous attitude towards the plight of every day Americans. No. I used to think Bernie Sanders was, but the recent months has changed that view. BTW Clinton probably is the most shady of the three remaining candidates (we all know she had Vince Foster killed, right?). But there is a difference between being shady and being a liar, bigot, misogynist
  5. Unfortunately a lot of Sanders supporters are talking nonsense. Especially when it comes to Super Delegates, fair or not, the Super Delegates have been a part of the Democratic nominating process for decades. When Bernie Sanders entered the race the rules were clearly laid out, he knew about the Super Delegates. It is not like this has been something that is has been sprung upon him at the last minute as a way to steal the nomination from him. It is how the process works. There is nothing in our constitution that says how a party must provide a nominee. The Dems could hold a Step it Up s
  6. Yes for sure. I am sure the conservatives who latched on/encouraged the TEA party are kicking themselves right now. Not to say Trump is the TEA party candidate. But Right Wing Media and their false outrage over Obama certainly got us to where we are today.
  7. Let's go back to July of 2015, when Trump announced his candidacy. Everyone said he was not going to be the nominee. That is why is why I said it was unthinkable. It will be interesting in the next couple of days to see where Kaisch (who also dropped out) and Cruz stand on Trump. They pretty much painted him as the worst person in the world (rightfully so). But his he worst than Clinton (or possibly Sanders)? Does the specter of his presidency inspire confidence for our country? Does Trump's many failings, lack of experience, boorish behavior, and unpredictability, still make him
  8. So today, the unthinkable has happened. Donald Trump is the the likely presidential nominee for the Republican Party. In November conservative voters will have to truly decide if they want to vote for Trump. They have to decide if they want a man who is a racist, misogynist, failed businessman, conspiracy theorist, xenophobe, whose foreign policy stance can be described as baffling at best (not to mention the ridiculous and inconceivable "Wall" that is central to his campaign.) to be the leader of the free world. Also, lest we forget, probably wants to bang his daughter. But hey I guess
  9. Well apparently the presumptive GOP nominee believes that Ted Cruz's father was pals with Lee Harvey Oswald. http://www.politico.com/blogs/2016-gop-primary-live-updates-and-results/2016/05/trump-ted-cruz-father-222730 This is the person that a majority of Republicans have picked to be their nominee for President. It is beyond the pale what this man will say. It is maddening.
  10. Heard 12 runs were scored in an inning. That is insane. If the weather ever gets better in Chicago maybe the Cubs can keep up.
  11. Do not hate on Steve Goodman. I simply will not tolerate it. As far as bad Cubs songs the new theme for WSCR Cubs broadcast is horrid. http://chicagoradioandmedia.com/news/8100-wscr-am-creates-new-cubs-theme-song Though it is interesting that the Cubs over any professional sporting team have the loyalty to have a pretty big artist to to write a song about them. I am sure there has been others but I can't think of any off the top of my head.
  12. I thought Ed was a die hard Cub fan. Hell, he even wrote this little ditty. But maybe by wearing a Sox cap he was getting his inner Ice Cube on.
  13. I made this prediction here back in March World Series Cubs over White Sox in 6 (and the city of Chicago will burn to the ground)
  14. When I worked in DC the Senator I worked for was on the committee to redesign the dollar coin (the current Sacajawea). It was a big debate on who they should put on it and it had to be a woman, etc. So his response was the Eagle was a female so everyone should not worry about it. He was kinda a prick that way.
  15. on going joke in my own head http://viachicago.org/topic/51342-politics-2016-election-edition/?p=1589787
  16. Another example of our fine tradition of having Presidents on our currency.
  17. I wonder if you heard the same speech I did. I mean what was good about it? Was the parts that blatantly contradicted the other parts? Or how oh about the staggering lack of actual depth or substance on foreign policy itself. Or is it the part of being unpredictable? Because that is what I want in someone I am going to vote for unpredictability, when we are putting our soldiers on the line. I am not even sure after hearing that speech I know what kind of foreign policy he would implement. This was a staggering jumble of jingoism, neoconservative ideology and comments from youtube vid
  18. Harping is what the GOP front runner did to Fiorina, Magnetized did not harp, by any means. BTW Magnetized did not single out Fiorina the discussion was on ticket, Cruz included. As for lying, she flat told the American people that Plan Parenthood was harvesting and selling baby parts, etc. And when confronted with evidence that it was true, she doubled down. She is either stupid enough to believe a doctored video and the propaganda by the pro life movement or thinks the American people are stupid enough to believe what she says. That makes her a horrible person. That is a direct fa
  19. Remember when Fiorina completely lied about what Plan Parenthood did/does? That was some grade A bs there. I had forgot what a horrible person she is.
  20. I am sure Presidents Franklin and Hamilton agree
  21. I so badly wanted this tread to be Seinfeld riff on W(tA)
  22. apparently not interesting enough to share here
  23. Who did you expect? It is the logical choice. A woman, vetted, highly respected by the GOP establishment, anti-Trump. I in fact I would have been more surprised if it where someone else. Though I did think for awhile that Cruz was gonna go with Kasich to combine forces to bring down Trump.
  24. I have mixed feelings about her debut teaser. She came off kinda dumb. But of course if I didn't know anything about Daleks I would probably ask the same things. Cause they are kinda stupid. My hope is that she is just a companion. Not a love interest, no huge mystery built around her. Just someone to get into adventures with. Also she has an 80's vibe. Maybe she is not from present day, or Earth for that matter. BTW I quite liked last season.
  25. The more that the Sanders v Clinton thing goes on, the more annoying I find Sanders.
