So we are just gonna let this slide, eh? Imagine if I said millions of people voted for Mitt Romney because he was white. I guess if you keep saying the scandals are real, then they must be real. Whereas the the truth is something different. Benghazi for example. And I don't want to rehash all of the scandals and why they are non stories, you can really go there yourself. Though it seems that you got me defending HRC for some reason. I don't care for her, she is a just another big business politician, like Obama, and like the most of the GOP candidates. But what I really can't

It will be Jeb Bush and Scott Walker as VP. But of course a right moderate ex governor and a conservative star from Wisconsin didn't work out very well in 2012. Rubio on the ticket with Bush would make little sense, especially electorally (both being from Florida and Hispanic). Rand Paul perceived to be too outside the GOP mainstream to be nominated for anything. How so? It has been less than a week since she announced and there has been little or no news coming out of the campaign. There was that Chipotle thing, admittedly weird but hardly laughable. That is a weird st

It is such a non story, I don't care. It is a shame that she has been anointed as the Democrat candidate this early. I would like a primary, I would like to see some good honest debates about the direction of the party and the country. Though I wouldn't want the circular firing squad that will be the GOP primary.

For all of that shows failings, it was one of a kind. Looking back on it, it came at the perfect time. I don;t think it could work today, nor anytime before. Where the internet was at the time really had a lot to do with it.

I think you miss the point. Everything you have said have nothing do with race, it has everything to do with the actions of individuals. Honestly can you say to yourself that you have never acted differently, or thought of someone different because of the color of their skin? If you can say that you never have, it seems to me that you are not being honest with yourself. I have done it myself. I catch myself doing it. I don't like it, I am not proud of it, but I will admit that it happens. We all have prejudices, but behind some of those is a tinge of racism. It is a fact of life.

I think the funniest thing that AOL is still a thing. If there is one person who is emblematic of the problems with the GOP it is John McCain. Once seen as maverick, he has drifted ever more to the far right in hopes to court votes from the TEA party and the extreme fringes of the party. It appears that he will be challenged by a TEA party backed candidate, which means I am sure he will swing more right. It would be my hope that McCain loses the primary and the people of Arizona elect a democrat, but I worry whoever wins the GOP nomination will win the seat. So I guess I would rathe

Hey everybody, it looks like Rand Paul is officially running for president! So which is great because he is going to appeal to those young conservatives and fair minded libertarians. But before you think how great it would be to have just a great libertarian mind as the most powerful man in the world, let's remember he is nothing close to libertarian, and in fact holds many positions directly against the Libertarian Party Platform. He is against marijuana legalization, and wants the government to have a say what you can and cannot put in your body. He is anti-choice, and wants the

Yes we all need to get Hixter's rules to the internet. I am sure it would be a much better place. For some reason you see when people asking you questions and clarification as some one "calling you out." Which at least for me, when it is done it is for clarification. Go back to the "No Blacks Allowed sign comment." You said the free market should decided if a business should survive, and they have the right to discriminate if they wish. So a clarification question was asked on whether businesses have the right to discriminate against Blacks. But the question is apt and is an importan

You keep asking a question you will never get an answer too. And everyone knows asking a direct question on the internet is bad form.

Yep we are all gonna die because of this. Gonna add it to the litany of things that the Obama Administration has done or is doing that is going to end life on this planet or at very the very least end the American Way. See we have Obamacare, immigrants invading our country, the government taking over the internet, the Muslims, the government taking away our guns, the government telling us we have to serve people we don't like (thus turning us gay), Common Core, so on and so forth. It must be hard to live in a world where you see everything that is done by the President as ultimately destroy

Exactly. It would be a different situation if the Cubs were truly poised to win this year (if I am truly honest the Wild Card is a huge long shot this year). So Bryant is not going to be with the Cubs for like 9 games? So would rather go 3-6 without Bryant in 9 games (5-4 with him?) in 2015 or have him for a full year when he is 29? It is a no brainier, anyone who thinks the Cubs made a mistake is just foolish. Agreed the Wrigley Field Renovations are a disaster. But to blame the front office on it is misguided as well. Factors include a winter where you couldn't do as much construct

Since opening day is right around the corner I think it is best we start a new thread, and what better way to start a new thread then predictions. Or in my case an overestimate of how well the Cubs will do this year. So here goes: AL East 1) Red Sox 2) Oriels 3) Blue Jays 4) Tampa 5) Yankees AL Central 1) Tigers 2) Royals 3) Indians 4) White Sox 5) Twins AL West 1) Mariners 2) Angles 3) Athletics 4) Rangers 5) Astros NL East 1) Nationals 2) Marlins 3) Mets 4) Braves 5) Phillies NL Central 1) Cardinals 2) Cubs 3) Pirates 4) Brewers 5) Reds NL West 1) Dodgers 2) Giants 3) Padre

How is photographing a gay wedding forcing you to act against your conscience? How is baking a cake for the the Westboro Baptist Church causing you to act against your conscience? HIxter mentioned that we live in a world of political correctness and we try to legislate against being offended. This is exactly what the RFRA is doing. Trying to use religion as a basis of not interacting with people they don't like. Life is not fair as Hixter said. So sometime a person who owns a business has to do things they don't like. If a business owner is not prepared to treat every person the same

Yes. And I already covered this.

Ok let's get one thing straight here. You can believe that being gay is wrong, you can believe that birth control is a sin, you can believe eating a ham sandwich is unclean and will bring down the fall of society as we know it. That is fine, the government is not and has never told YOU what to believe. So unless the government is forcing YOU to eat said ham sandwich, or to forcing YOU to take birth control, or forcing YOU to be gay, then the government is doing nothing against YOUR beliefs. Yes, you may not like or agree the lifestyles/beliefs/genetics of other people, but that does not gi

Apparently dodging questions is par for the course in this debate. http://www.indystar.com/story/news/politics/2015/03/29/pence-religious-freedom-bill-stand-law/70627494/

With the summer months coming, go cold-brewed. All you need is a jug/pitcher, a coffee filter, and a strainer. Makes fantastic coffee. http://www.chow.com/recipes/30487-basic-cold-brewed-coffee BTW any personal coffee maker does not get hot enough to make a a decent cup of coffee. Either go french press, or cold-brewed.

I am not saying that the current negotiations are going to solve anything, or stop Iran from getting a nuclear bomb or whatever. I actually do not think that is germane to the conversation (or at least nothing I care about right now). What I am saying the speech to Congress did nothing but undermine the current negotiations. Yes, obviously Netanyahu has some reservations about the direction of the talks or what the talks consisted of, but as a foreign leader there are channels that one should go through to have these concerns known. A respectful decision would be to continue to work with t
-
I think you mean showing respect by not accepting the invitation of John Boehner to speak before congress. Listen this speech was meant to do one thing and one thing only, to sabotage the US negotiations with Iran, in a very public way. Thus trying to make the President look bad, and increase Netanyahu's standing within his own country right before an election. Sure he said nice things about the US and the President, but his actions are one thing entirely different. Israel clearly respects and appreciates what the US has done for its country. Netanyahu does not respect the President.
-
No. Israel is one of our only allies in the region. Stop supporting them would be detrimental and short sighted.
-
Basically it was similar to every other speech by someone on the Right. Complain about Obama's policies, but fail to offer any real or reasoned solution.
-
These people were elected, which means there are people out there who believe or agree with thinking like this. Or at least have come to terms with how these people will govern, because of the promise of lower taxes, less government or something. I cannot see how any rational person would want individuals governing this way.

I would say nothing should exclude a person from running for president and in away, except what is spelled out in the constitution. It is up for the voters to decide whether that person's qualifications / political policies / ideas / character would make a good president. If as voter you think someone who does not have a college degree shouldn't be president, then don't vote for that person. A candidate is vetted in the media. That question will ultimately be asked (maybe it will be seen as another gotcha question), but it is one that will be asked over and over again. A larger burden
