Just how good is Jake Arrieta? NL Cy Young front runner.
-
Ladies and Gentlemen your GOP front runner: http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/17/politics/donald-trump-obama-muslim-new-hampshire/index.html (autoplay warning) I can only assume that Trump's numbers will go up after comments like these. If this does not speak volumes of the current state of the GOP I don't know what does.

Yes one party. Last night's debate was a travesty. Let's take the current (non-Trump) media darling right now, Carly Fiorina. Her comments on abortion were so completely wrong, misguided and stupid, I was flabbergasted that it was said. For those who did not watch, or did not see she said this: I am sorry that is not what happens. Sure she can be anti-choice, that is fine, but either she is a complete moron or is willfully pandering to the far right. It is truly disgusting what she did there. If you like a regressive flat tax that favors the rich then Rand Paul is your ma

You don't have to lie. Admit it is your album.

I don't think you could have assembled a bigger group of anti-intellectual, anti-science, lying, pandering group of idiots if you tried. Jesus Just a group of general idiocy. I can't fathom how any reasonable, sane person could honestly consider voting for one of these people for the leader of the free world.

There is a couple of interesting things that Managers are doing right now. I, of course, am really amazed by what Joe Maddon is doing with a very young Cubs team.

How do you listen to your music during the day?

I have become a big fan of Google Play and their curated radio stations. After I drop my daughter off at school I plug into that via my phone and then when I am work I use my bluetooth speaker that is velcroed to the wall. I work from home so I can do stuff like that. -
I didn't mean to shit on your question, but I cringe when I am in a social situation where I am meeting new people and know that question is coming up. I always like John Hodgman's party question. Which would you prefer as your superpower, flight or invisibility? Explain why.
-
God, I always hated that question at parties. It always seemed to be the default way of meeting someone. Thus sizing them up by what their profession. Also I never got the sense that person asking the question really cared what I did. It was the way to fill the empty space. And by in large most people's occupation are really uninteresting. I suppose if my job (which I enjoy BTW) was interesting to anyone, but me, I would have a different outlook on the question, but my job is real dull and technical unless you work in the Banking Industry. Instead I am the father of 2 great kids,

He was with the Brewers until recently. He was good not great.

And to stop being stupid. And I don't think Bobby himself is taking his own advice.

There is such an anti-immigration sentiment on the far right they won't even consider the consequences of Trump's plan. Or they are just too stupid to realize the consequences. I wonder if there has been any real cost analysis of his plan? Billions of dollars to do this? Trillions? His candidacy is a joke, this plan proves it. He is there as a show. In fact I would not be surprised if shortly after he drops out there will be a Trump presidential reality show. But the thing is his numbers keep going up. I keep hammering on this, but look at what he is saying. Is he saying really

With so many of the GOP candidates currently and openingly suggesting things that are directly against the constitution, surely this is only a minor hurdle for Deez Nuts.
-
I just looked it up too, and Jesus. I hate to ruin the game, but the entire plan is so stupid and unrealistic. But perfect for the far right. It sounds good, but if you actually think about it, it will never work.

What is the Contract with America?
-
It is the same thing that we have been discussing with the Iraq War and the eventual troop withdrawal. A failure to fully understand what the Bush administration did to get us into the war. Or even to acknowledge that it was an ill conceived, ill planned. And further to see the troop withdrawal was the plan of the Bush Administration. Instead the problems that we are facing in the Mid-East is really the fault of the Obama administration. History doesn't matter it is only the message.

and the other 57% probably were laid off by her.

Jesus. But of course his popularity says nothing about the current state of GOP.
-
So I guess that means he didn't really sign it (or mean it?), because like high school the last month of your senior year is pretty much bullshit. You act as though every time we get a new president the slate is wiped clean. Come on now, Now, I am not saying Obama gets a clean slate on this one, but neither does the previous administration. They got us into this, they signed the agreement to get us out. And really when did Iraq attack us?
-
No, you can't. But it would be nice if there was some acknowledgement that it was a huge mistake in the first place. The war has cost millions of lives, trillions of dollars, and damaged the region for decades. Also you make it sound like it the current's administration's plan to basically cut and run from Iraq. The agreement to remove troops from Iraq was signed by the Bush administration. Which is conveniently missing from your argument. But I guess it is ok to unilaterally continue to occupy a country, which we invaded and did not attack us. Signed agreements between countries do

Or that the fact that we should not have been there in the first place.

Both of these comments require thought and looking at the situation from a nuanced point of view. Which is something that the anti Iran deal, pro military solution crowd does not seem to have.

I use the MLB at the ballpark app to keep all of my ballparks straight. Since have only been to 10 here is my top 10 10 - US Cellular (see my review in the Politics thread) 9 - New Yankee Stadium - surprisingly generic for a team with so much history 8 - Turner Field - another Meh 7 - Coors Field - good views 6 - Target Field - nice, clean, 5 - Camden Yards - fun stadium. Say a guy climb to the top of a foul poll. 4 - Miller Park - good for if you want to do something besides watch the game 3 - Kauffman Stadium (best deal in all of baseball) 2 - SafeCo - best view in all of baseball and

The last time all 12 home teams won was May 14th 1914 (included the NL, AL and Federal League). Prior to expansion when all the home teams in the AL and NL won was 9/16/89, and there were three times in the 1800's. http://bigstory.ap.org/article/067ecfb96a6a4036be48db22fd6b7924/home-teams-win-all-15-games-first-time-mlb-history
