  1. No thought anyone was piling on, I just found it interesting, I hadn't heard anything or actually thought about Beck in a half of decade and then all of sudden everyone is like here is the new Beck album, or can't wait for the new Beck album, or whatnot. Caught me by surprise. I doubt I will actually go out and buy the album, but I would consider seeing him if he came to my town.
  2. Don't you know that the American education system is filled with communists, especially at the collegiate level?
  3. Apparently Beck has a new album coming out shortly. And for some reason on most of the blogs etc. that I read this is the greatest thing to happen to music. Well I might be exaggerating, but people seem to be pretty pumped. While I like Beck, I was not anticipating this album, nor actually cared if he produced any music ever again. So does anyone really care about the new Beck album? Here is some information on it, as well as the new single. http://www.stereogum.com/1634441/beck-blue-moon/mp3s/
  4. Has Erin Andrews said anything about the interview after it happened? She handled it pretty well during IMHO. Infact her twitter feed seem to imply the opposite.
  5. Before you go ahead and pass judgement on Sherman, I would suggest you read this. http://www.forbes.com/sites/tommytomlinson/2014/01/19/22-brief-thoughts-about-that-richard-sherman-interview/ It does put things into perspective. I like the Seahawks and I will be cheering for them, but I don't see how they will be able to beat Manning and Broncos, especially without the 12 man. Prediction Broncos 34 - Seahawks 17. MVP Payton Manning
  6. A tad sensitive today? Either you have no answer or can't take a little joke. Sorry to hurt your feelings. You comment about the Texas cops was ridiculous. When I and others called you on it, you came back with nothing, other then your "conversations." It was simply an opinion, which is fine, but you put it out as a fact. Much like your article about the FLA gun owner, which was an opinion, but you stated as a fact. This is something I have a problem with. Listen this is the internet, if you can't take sarcasm or when someone is less than polite to you I suggest you find a new
  7. Yeah for your personal experience and conversations! Super good job on that! Still it is not fact and it is an opinion and should be treated as such. But you completely ignored the second part of my post. If we take your assertion at face value and true that firearm registries are good and beneficial, wouldn't it make sense to expand these to private party sales to be included in gun registries?
  8. I see that you speak for the entirety of all police officers in Texas now. Come on, you can't throw out statements like that without any reference. Don't just throw out blanket statements that are zero proof, it is ridiculous and frankly makes me write off much of what you say. BTW John Smith did it too, but not as blatant. But if we take your statement at face value, I see that you are in favor of gun registry. They are obviously help Police, right? Since they make traffic stops "very nonchalant," wouldn't it be prudent to expand gun registry to include all private party sales?
  9. So anyone's thoughts about the President's speech regarding the NSA and the policy changes he is suggesting? Step in the right direction? Or not enough change? http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/in-speech-obama-to-call-for-restructuring-of-nsas-surveillance-program/2014/01/17/e9d5a8ba-7f6e-11e3-95c6-0a7aa80874bc_story.html
  10. I think you mean NRA, cause IRA, that is a whole 'nother ball of wax there.
  11. Why the hell not? I welcome it. You presented a bias source as a fact. That shouldn't be glossed over. It needs to be challenged. It should be challenged. In fact if it is not challenged it does a disservice to your argument and all future arguments. It is too bad you really can't or won't defend the column you cited. But of course that would require some contrition on your part. If so then call them out on it. If someone presents a story that is biased tell them why. Just because some provides a link doesn't mean the link is true or correct. Make posters defend thems
  12. Everytime I hear that I think of Battlestar Galactica.
  13. I have been pulled over several times without being issued as citation. The reason I have a problem with this story is there have been countless times that the Right has brought a "horrible outrage" against their beliefs. These stories are generally one sided and later to be be proven wrong or factually incorrect. This story might be legitimate, but it is a pretty big charge to accuse the government of misusing the lists legal gun owners, with only half the story. Which is exactly what you did.
  14. You are doing it again. You are presenting something as a hard fact when only half a story is told. You, the columnist do not know why this guy was pulled over, no facts are really ever given, only supposition and ginned up outrage. The police officer may have had a perfectly good reason for pulling him over, or he may not. But that side is never told. So I am not going to jump to conclusions on this before the full story is told. But apparently you are ok with that (I guess as long as it fits your narrative). The columnist clearly has a political point to make, as do you. But I
  15. Hixter presented it as an example of what is happening to gun owners. But it a biased half story.
  16. From the article: The state of Florida might have codified his Second Amendment rights, but he knew he’d be passing through states where recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions affirming the rights of individuals to keep and bear arms have been met by hostile legislatures and local officials. “I know the laws and I know the rules,” Filippidis says. There are, after all, ways gun owners can travel legally with firearms through hostile states." These are the author's words, not fact but opinion. He infers that any state or community with a gun law is going be hostile to gun owners. Maybe what
  17. What an extremely biased and poorly written article. By the account given what the Police officer did was wrong and more than likely illegal. But we only have one account of what happened here and this account was written by a person who clearly has a pro gun agenda. But yet it is read like Maryland police officers are pulling over every single person with FLA license plate and throwing them in jail cause they might have a gun. You don't know why he was pulled over, though the article infers that it was because he was from FLA and the Maryland is out to get all gun owners. Simply n
  18. Hillary is the odds on favorite, I would imagine Biden will probably run as well, also I have heard that John Kerry is considering another run. Other names bandied about Corey Booker, Andrew Cuomo, Amy Klobucher. One name that I have not heard mentioned is Elizabeth Warren, who I would be very pleased to see as president. I would imagine you are gonna see probably about 6-10 serious Democratic candidates.
  19. Well the internet was fun while it lasted. http://www.buzzfeed.com/jwherrman/welcome-to-the-net-neutrality-nightmare-scenario?bffb http://www.wired.com/opinion/2013/11/so-the-internets-about-to-lose-its-net-neutrality/
  20. Fleetwood Mac - I only like Tusk Also two people mentioned Big Star? There is something wrong with those people.
  21. Which is the rub really. Evidence shows that tax cuts are not growing our economy (http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2012/09/tax-cuts-dont-lead-to-economic-growth-a-new-65-year-study-finds/262438/). And as stated by the last months employment figures private corporations are not creating nearly enough jobs. Also we are not making things in this country anymore, thus less jobs. But really getting people to work is the best way to grow the economy. The only organization that can do that is the Federal government. Or infrastructure is crumbling, we have road and bridges that are c
  22. I was speaking to the GOP establishment as a whole, not directly to you. It is nice that you say you want to raise taxes, but when was the last time you voted for someone who said they were going to raise taxes? Or supported someone who saw a balanced approach of tax revenue and spending cuts? Or written to your elected representatives and tried to convince them that we should increase taxes as a way of solving out debt crisis? It is all lip service. Until there is real change in the GOP establishment about increasing tax revenue to combat our debt why should I believe that they care?
  23. Why is that the Right seems to agree that we have a deficit/debt problem (which by all accounts is going to send us into the a post apocalyptic wasteland in the very near future), but the only way to fix this problem is to cut programs and services. Heaven forbid we think about raising taxes. This is why the whole deficit/debt problem is a myth. If it were actually a problem the Right would be serious about solving it, they are not. They use it as a political football to scare people. They just don't like what the government is spending its money on. I don't think anyone was concerned a
  24. There is something about spring time, a renewal, a rebirth. It fills me with hope. Baseball is the most romantic, illogical sports, but yet grounded in just pure hard facts. Realistically the Cubs have very little chance of winning the World Series. But as a fan, can't I hope? It makes me happy when I think about what could be, and that this could be the year. And why not? Their is a faith that is required. I just get so happy on what could be. Without that hope, that faith, it makes the winter much shorter. Wishing, waiting and thinking about baseball makes me happy. Baseball is a
