  1. Here is a shot by shot breakdown of the trailer from io9 http://io9.com/everything-we-spotted-in-the-new-doctor-who-trailer-1604526204
  2. New full trailer. Looks pretty good. Still an adjustment to see Capaldi.
  3. exactly. What always do with any type of fresh sausage. Is cut up an onion and red/green pepper or two; place in a tin foil pan in a single layer put the sausages; pour half of a beer over all; seal tightly with tin foil; place on medium high grill for 15 20 mins; then remove foil and brown sausages directly. This way if any fat is released it is into the peppers and onions. The peppers and onions are nicely cooked and the sausages are perfectly cooked.
  4. don't you all know that public teachers are what is wrong with our society and they caused all of the economic ills we are experiencing today? For one I think we should continue demonizing these takers who get their summers off and use them to "balance" our budgets.
  5. I can't speak for others but I know myself I am more connected to my job then ever before and generations prior. I regularly work 50 plus hours a week and am on call at all hours. Also a I am frequently checking emails and working way past business hours at my home. But yes I do send some time on non related work items. I think our grandfathers would also shake their heads at how consumed many of are by our jobs and have taken over "at home time." I put in these hours because I don't want to lose my job (which has never been directly told to me, but strongly hinted it.)
  6. I totally agree with that. While the jobs numbers are encouraging, the type of jobs are these part-time lower wage jobs. This all goes back to what the role of corporations and the result of the free market. Part-time work is generally far cheaper than full time work. And as we all know it is nearly impossible to live making minimum wage. Corporations are really holding all of the power hear. The employment outlook still is very hard for many Americans and they take what they get, as the article states. So corporations can pay lower wages and only part time work with little or no ben
  7. I can only assume you are talking about the idiots on talk radio.
  8. I am sure you probably heard this but Obama is the worst president in modern history! But of course if you actually look at the poll and how it was conducted it is pretty much bullshit. But it makes for good headlines. I don't think Obama has been great, but when put him in with the likes of Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, that is a pretty tough sell. But in our headline obsessed ADA culture this will get a lot of play on talk radio. But it looks like we added another 288K jobs so that is a good thing.
  9. Ha! If there was no oil in the middle east we would would treat them like we do Africa, with mild indifference.
  10. Finally getting around to reading this: People tell me it is good
  11. that is when I first heard of them. So that is what I say.
  12. You could say that about anything that has happened ever in that conflict. While all parties have a vested interest in peace, they don't seem to be doing much to make it happen. The Israelis and Palestinians have been at war for thousands of years and they'll be at war for thousands more.
  13. apparently it is is taboo not to talk about Speedracer.
  14. not the 2008 Wachowski's movie thread I was expecting.
  15. while yes, alot of the Detroit garage sound all coalesced in the early '00s, no other band was as big or garnered the attention that the White Stripes did. Nor has any Detroit garage era band has had the success that the Stripes and subsequently Jack White has had. And without that attention, no person would have cared about any other band with that same sound. Now, does that constitute influence, or creation of a sound? No. But the influence that Jack White has had on music as a whole cannot be denied. Ignoring what the Stripes did in the early 00's, is like ignoring what Led Zeppeli
  16. I did, I was quite surprised. It was nice to someone taking him to task. Doubt she will ever get to interview him again.
  17. If the headlines did not read "Glenn Beck says Liberals were right," Mr. Heartbreak would not have posted his thoughts. Glenn Beck spews more half truths and sensational lies then I care to count. I do not trust one word that comes out of that man's pie hole. If I were a conservative I would be ashamed that he calls himself a conservative and a patriot. He is neither. He is a reactionary liar who preys on stupid people's fears to get ratings. I say he is a danger to political discourse in this country and offers nothing good in anything he does.
  18. Who cares what Glenn Beck thinks? He is a reactionary blowhard. And really worthless and offers no sane discourse to any subject. What we should be talking about is another reactionary blowhard, former Vice President Dick Cheney and his op-ed. http://online.wsj.com/articles/dick-cheney-and-liz-cheney-the-collapsing-obama-doctrine-1403046522 The gall of this guy, a man who lied to the American people to get us into a war. I mean Jesus Christ, how the fuck does he sleep at night?
  19. Well if they are anything like this ISIS They aren't well organized.
  20. I figured your statement "it is more apparent than ever that if left alone by the West, muslims would peacefully co-exist pursuant to the deeply-held tenants of their faith." was sarcasm like mine. Maybe I was mistaken? stupid internet and its non sarcasm indicator.
  21. apparently the Iraqis cannot self govern, so why don't we just keep troops there permanently? Hell let's just skip it all together and make Iraq the 51st state!
  22. Stewart had a pretty good bit on McCain and other GOPers response to the current Iraq situation last night.
  23. But we are getting help from Iran apparently. This ain't gonna end well.
  24. I love me some Spoon. Spoon, while formed before the Stripes, did not come to prominence until 2002's Kill the Moonlight, or some might argue 2005's Gimme Fiction. While not a direct influence, without what The White Stripes were doing in 1999 and 2000, there would be no place for Spoon in rock. I guess the crux of my argument is this. Once every one to two decades, rock becomes stale and bloated, and a band comes around and shakes things up. The Beatles in the 60s, Led Zeppelin in the 70s, The punk movement in 80s, Nirvana in 90's, The White Stripes in 2000's. This changes rock music
