I'm 'pro-life', as in I don't support sending young people off to die in an unnecessary war, for example, and pro-choice. Nobody says 'yippee, I'm having an abortion today', but it should remain a safe and viable alternative, or we will return to coat hangers and back alley practitioners.

This show doesn't appear to be close to sold out. What's wrong with you 'Inland Empire' people. Maybe more of my fellow Puget Sounders will figure out that they aren't going to see Wilco soon in Seattle, and make the trek over, as I am.

The performance of Monday was beyond amazing, and I loved having the horn section for it. That was just stellar. Got me ready for the Spokane show in only a few weeks. Best live band ever.....

I think the decline from the baby boom peak had something to do with more widespread availability of birth control methods... but as for it's influence on musical tastes, I never followed my peers anyway isn't this a neil and wilco thread?

The problem with Neil Young and Wilco playing together is that it would need to be at least a 4 hour show to do both justice. I've been a Neil fan for almost 40 years, but I have passed on seeing him live in recent years. Too high of ticket prices and large of venues, combined with the horrible crowd the last time I did see him have kept me away (for example, the drunk woman singing louder than Neil in the 6th row at a solo acoustic performance on every damn song.. - I'm surprised Neil didn't tell her to shut the hell up) . I love almost everything on these lists, and would second almost all of them, but why do I dislike Pet Sounds so much? I've wanted to like it, since it's such a classic, but I just don't, and here it sits on the shelf collecting dust.

I would put Accelerate up there on top at this point in time, but I can appreciate that it's a minority view. That's partly because I saw three of the band members (Peter, Bill, and Scott) play several times over the last few years in small venues around Seattle, backing up Robyn Hitchcock as the Venus 3, so the sound and feel really connects with me.

The tour only CDs are great. The newest one, Tool Box, is full of great instrumentals.

Personally, although I like Garden Ruin, I think it's a bit duller than their other recordings. I strongly recommend Feast of Wire or the EP Convict Pool as a starting point.

Just got 3rd center tickets yesterday for the late September Calexico show in Seattle. Yeah!.....

They are opening for Wilco in Spokane, and playing here in Seattle at a street festival the month before, so I'll look forward to seeing them at least once at the Wilco show, and maybe before that. Just picked up the new album yesterday. It's very good and worth checking out.

Got two tickets in row A! I had to buy them one at a time to get them, but fortunately they are together. Tickets on Alaska Air from Seattle are $80 round trip right now. I can't drive there for that.
