I'm not sure what to tell you about the mezzanine but with those balcony tickets, you're pretty much going to be looking down at the tops of the bands' heads. It's a big venue (I want to say 3500-3600 seats.) I've been there for a few musicals, and also for when Conan did shows in Chicago... it can feel a bit too spacious and detached from the band if you're far back/up. Sorry. I know Ryan Adams played there last September. Maybe someone here went to that show and can tell you what it's like to be there for a show as opposed to a musical?

...but not in the Pageant queue.

Although it's interesting, yesterday we learned that the cover-up seems to be the survivors' story and not one from Oceanic Air, since Jack told them "We all know the story" after Admiral Cain the spokeswoman left them and returned to her seat. It seemed like a private group consensus thing, not a "Ok we all know what Oceanic told us to say" thing.
-
Actually we knew there was a cover-up from Kate's trial: Jack's testimony of how Kate pulled people from the water and cared for everyone, 8 people survived the crash, and so on. I'm interested to see how the Oceanic 6 come together and make it off the island. Right now they're scattered all over the place: Kate and Sayid with Richard, Sun on the boat, Hurley with Locke, etc. The woman who played the Oceanic spokeswoman who briefed them in the Coast Guard plane was Admiral Cain in (the new) Battlestar Galactica.

He's intriguing, for sure. Can't wait to see what they do with him in the finale and next season. Desmond is my favorite. If he dies, I am doing to cry my eyes out. I hate when TV makes me do that!

I caught that too, and wondered if it serves a plot purpose (they've been hiding out at the Temple all season, who knows what that entails,) or if it was an artistic nod to the scene from season 2's "The Hunting Party" where Tom warns Jack not to cross the line and then calls for the Others to light up the torches, showing Jack just how surrounded he is.

I almost wrote something here that clearly belongs in a LOL-inducing email to you.

Has anyone here discussed how Ben and Locke's mother(s) have the same name, so perhaps they're half-brothers? The show is so careful about not doubling up on things unless they're significant (like having two con men characters,) so to use the name Emily twice is probably a signal that it's the same person. Locke spends so much time in the early seasons talking about good/evil, black/white (remember his backgammon talk with Walt,) and other dichotomies. Perhaps he and Ben exist as each others' yin and yang, in the Lost universe's perception of the idea. edit: just saw this:

Food prices going up...package sizes going down..
kimcatch22 replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I used to think this, and I understand the college food budget thing... but it can be done, especially if you're willing to get your groceries from a few different places. I'm not saying you have to shop at Whole Foods or Trader Joes. But for example, in Chicago there are two main grocery chains: Dominicks and Jewel. I've learned to buy dry goods from those places but almost never do I get my produce or meat from them, because they're consistently overpriced. For those, gotta find the little ethnic fruit markets. And farmers markets, in the summer -- or better yet, plant your own veggie garden -

I now set tivo to record 10 minutes past the end of Lost because it cut off with a few minutes left one time, even though my tivo actually registers the show as being on until 10:02. Luckily it was that stupid Jin/Sun episode and I was watching it as it aired, so it didn't matter. But yeah. I blame rising gas prices and someone not being able to get as much cholesterol out of a bag of chips as she used to get. -

Either way, package sizes would stop going down if steroids weren't so widely used. -

Is this the same reason NBC is now running The Office from 8:01-8:31 and ABC runs Lost from 9:02-10:02? -
Happy birthday!! Dig in!

I love social history. If I can pry myself away from the Vietnam War, I'll probably do something 20th century American social history as my thesis. And I'll do all my writing while watching I Love Lucy.

We just got this in the library. If I don't do a self-imposed food book break, this is next up:
