  1. i agree leaks are inevitable, but when it's a release that happens like this, and when it's f'n iTunes that "leaks" it early, that would piss me the fuck off and is kinda lame imo. Apple probably did it on purpose.
  2. i know right? i suck. i realized i couldn't afford the vinyl until i get paid next Wed, so yeah
  3. i like that Evangelicals record but they were horrible at SXSW
  4. like it a bit so far, i like that the first voice you hear is Brendan's at least!
  5. i downloaded it, but i think i'm gonna just hold out for the vinyl on Tuesday
  6. are they opening for Blitzen Trapper at that show? if so, GO... Blitzen Trapper are frickin' awesome in their own right, and fantastic/fun live.
  7. i saw him at the NPR showcase at the Parish, pretty good. so weird to see Scott do something so completely polar opposite of Verbena. but it's pretty good, even if it seems a bit like a Dylan/Woody Guthrie-esque imitation.
  8. good album, certainly better than The Loon musically, but Fridmann's production almost ruins the record for me
  9. weird thing is... they've now opened for Pearl Jam on 4 different tours, so they must be pretty great friends by now.
  10. Bon Iver was '07 for me, but it'd still prolly be my #1 this year Constantines Sun Kil Moon British Sea Power Black Keys Nick Cave Fleet Foxes Why? Black Mountain Supergrass Cloud Cult The Dodos These New Puritans Jamie Lidell She & Him
  11. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 19, 2008,10:00am Contact: Vandenberg Communications, 206-447-1801 nicole@vandenbergcom.com sarah@vandenbergcom.com PEARL JAM ANNOUNCE EAST COAST SUMMER TOUR DATES SEATTLE
  12. i'm guessing Sun Kil Moon or Constantines? those 3 are my faves so far anyway
  13. oh, Huckabee's views & policies are batshit crazy, not denying that! just he seems like a super cool/likeable dude otherwise.
  14. Janet was amazing to watch last night (as always), but Stephen and the band were pretty damn lethargic to the point of boring at times. a lot of the jams never really went anywhere. someone i know said it best "it sounds like they're gonna break into 'Sweet Melissa' on every song" . Stephen also seemed pretty drunk too. the crowd's lack of energy didn't exactly help either
  15. was not very impressed with last nights show in Minneapolis...
  16. indeed. great personality... maybe the best of any candidate
  17. Plans wasn't awful, but it was definitely a safe record for their major label debut. It's still probably my least favorite Death Cab full length, either that or You Can Play These Songs with Chords, which isn't truly a Death Cab album per se. Favorites being Photo Album, Transatlanticism, Facts, then Airplanes.
  18. was that the first time you've heard it though? it's actually a quite common comment/conspiracy theory among the black community... not saying it's not far fetched, but it's not like Reverend Wright came up with it, it's been uttered for decades.
  19. who is tap dancing? is it impossible to take someone at their word? besides, i personally didn't find the sermons offensive or shocking, but then again i've attended black churches on occasion in the past as well...
  20. not only that, but who is to say that Reverend Wright has held these types of beliefs for 20+ years... it's quite possible (i've experienced it with people i know) that he started to go off the deep end after 9/11 (when some of his first "controversial" comments were made supposedly).
  21. i like the song, but don't love it... the intro is pretty repetitive and boring until the 3.5 minute mark imo. the actual song portion is pretty good, not overly hooky/catchy though. sounds like it'll be a pretty dark/different record for them. just hoping I like it more than Plans is all.
