  1. i'm with you dude... he could easily conform and write a record that sounds "modern" or go with the trends he could enlist someone like Ryan Adams to help produce and write his record (not a knock on Willie, just saying)... he could work with Rick Rubin and cover a bunch of modern songs and all the sudden become "hip" with younger people (not a knock on the Main In Black either) he isn't doing this for money or fame anymore (not saying he did before, but...), he's doing this for the love of music. this is all he knows and as long as he's able to keep creating music i will be happy that h
  2. lol i haven't heard this one yet, but i'm excited this one was great too:
  3. i didn't get into Time Outta Mind right away, and Love & Theft, while i liked it a lot, again, it took me a while... this one i enjoyed right off the bat, and while it may not be BETTER than the previous 2, i enjoy it more right now... his vocals are really warm and inviting (so is the production). it's a really funny record in ways too... A-man, i'm not sure what you expect out of Bob 45 years later really... his last 3 records are a fairly timeless sound and even modern Dylan is better than most mainstream artists as far as i'm concerned. the fact that he's still out there creating
  4. 3 song clips up on Lost Highway... sounds great! http://main.losthighwayrecords.com/player....id=6&hid=61
  5. i understand the sentiment, and i don't doubt the sincerity, but yeah, i skip it every time it's like watching late night TV and having America The Beautiful blast after the station goes off the air
  6. oooone.... ooooone..... oooone or two won't dooooooo....

  8. well by favorite i mean like top 50
  9. we don't have the time or energy to put up with your bullshit, cut it out or be banned for good this is a PSA to the rest of the board as well...
  10. After The Garden & Roger and Out are some of my fave Neil tunes to date
  11. dude, i thought the same, at least give it one listen...
  12. i actually love Magic Trick, despite the canned applause, that melody is fabulous
  13. Poison Cup blows me away every time i start listening to the record... sounds like Louis Armstrong almost at times the title cut also kills me.... gorgeous stuff fave songs: Requiem Chinese Translation Post-War Poison Cup To Go Home Right In The Head Rollercoaster honestly i guess i don't see how any fan of Matt's could be even remotely disappointed with the album whatsoever myself... you don't have to like it as much as his last 2 (heck i was "disappointed" by Transistor Radio compared to Vincent, still an amazing record). it's not like he went all commercial or some shit, it's still
  14. love the record still, maybe more
  15. really? wow... i could see not liking it as MUCH as the last 3, but saying it does nothing for you... dayum... there's a few songs on there that are as good as ANYTHING he's done before...
  16. it is great, it's just that Transfiguration before it was one of my fave records post '00, so it was pretty hard to top. i don't know what it is about the new one that i like over Transistor, but i do i guess... they're both equally great, i just prefer Post-War
  17. yup. their live show is as hit or miss too in my experience, first show i saw was brilliant, ending with a sick cover of Rock N Roll Pt 2, then i saw them a year or so later and the show was pretty damn boring
  18. i think it's rather poor for the most part honestly then again Echoes really only had 4-5 great songs too though...
  19. it's definitely better than Duet For Guitars #2 imo... i don't see anyone down on it in this thread??
  20. the songs themselves, the melodies aren't nearly as memorable as the last record (which i was pretty sour on, due to the afformentioned vocals), but man it's such a rewarding listen during the 55 minutes the album runs... yes some of the songs are way too long, but as i stated in the NP thread, it's like listening to some Disney film or whatever, it doesn't really feel as long due to that fact. it's meant to be listened to as a whole, not any individual songs.
  21. Silver Lining is most definitely not their worst record... in fact i'd probably take it over Candy From a Stranger not an amazing record, but some really great rock tunes imo. Lately is so great, love those lyrics
  22. was only a matter of time, but yeah, totally blows but i could have told you they had much too big of a staff to support an online only radio station... they were stuck coming from the world of terrestrial radio in mind unfortunately.
  23. you can say that about most his records tho, last 2 especially
