This coupling damn near knocked me on my ass. Incredible. Does anyone know what all the videotaping was for? Of course, I'm speculating perhaps a future DVD release, what with the long and varied set list. I haven't heard anything, though.

I've been to a lot of Wilco shows over many, many years and this was unquestionably in the top two. What an amazing venue, and they used it to its fullest. I can't even process it. I didn't keep track of the set list, but I will say this: "Someone Else's Song", solo, with no amplification. Near silence from the audience. One of the most startlingly beautiful musical acts I've ever witnessed. Had dinner with Elixir Sue and the Dude before the show, and drinks afterwards. SarahC spotted me in the balcony and somehow recognized me (I have no idea how). It was before the show and I'd went to

We're in the balcony. Section 10, row M, 7 and 8.

Aw. He's got Sam and Spencer's pictures on his guitar strap. Dads are hot.
-
And it is! Awesome! So hope he wears it tomorrow night, too.
-
Gah! Thanks for the head's up. Guess I should have checked the details before I suggested. How about Beer Seller after the show or Demo's beforehand for dinner?
-
Who's up for dinner/drinks before the show? I'd love to meet everyone! We were thinking about Jack's, since it's so close to the Ryman. Say, 5ish to give us plenty of time to loiter and such?

If it's too late to get a prescription anxiety medication, you can take Benadryl. When I was pregnant and having panic attacks, I couldn't take things like Xanax and Klonopin. My doctor told me to take a slightly larger dose of Benadryl (what amounts to a prescription antihistimine) when I felt the anxiety coming on. It worked really well. Good luck!

I've heard of Gruhn's and had wondered how it was. Brian will love that. Thanks!

Thanks for the head's up. It's been over a decade since I've been to Nashville. We're driving. Even though I say I'd like to park the truck and not get in it until time to go home, I know we'll be running around, so it's no biggie. I live about five miles from downtown East St. Louis. I do okay with dicey parts of town. We're in the balcony, too. Can't remember what section, but it's on the John and Pat side. My husband wants to know where he might find a good, interesting guitar shop.
-
I'm going there on Saturday! I've also promised the spouse-guy person that we'll find a few guitar shops and he can fondle the goods.

I have no button. and no longer have bright pink hair, so I blend in. We're definitely up for a VC meet up. I don't think anything's been planned yet. Dinner before the show, perhaps? Since the seats are reserved we won't need to be in line all day.
-
I'll be way up in the back of the balcony! My husband and I will be in Nashville from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning. Can't wait!
-
Yep, I got the same error a few times this morning, and once a few minutes ago. No biggie. I think this is the first time I've gotten an error message in the nearly-six months I've been posting. That's a damn good record!

That's a beautiful obituary, M. Chris. Nana sounds like a wonderful woman, and I hope her passing was peaceful. Please send Bethany my love.

I was going to say the exact same thing. For real. I've had too much caffeine and sarcasm for one day. Tomorrow, it's nothing but pure, clean drinking water and pure-heartedness for me.

For once, I'm being serious. Not like when I called Tweedy a sell-out for no longer living in the crappy apartments behind the video store in Belleville. In all seriousness, I'm thrilled to see you expressing that you don't know if I'm being sarcastic before expressing your displeasure. That's the best!
-
Thanks for not disappointing.

They probably sold the rights to one of the huge conglomerates that supplies music to stores, most likely.
-
Same here, except I wasn't oblivious. I knew about VC for years and occasionally lurked. I didn't register and start posting until September. Feels like I've been here for years, though.

That's so cool! I heard "Impossible Germany" at Jackman Fabrics today. It was followed by a Vanessa Williams ballad.

Yay! I need to get back on the preemie hats. I'm on the verge of finishing my very first sweater. Granted, it's a kids size six, but it's still a sweater! In bad sewing news, I just cut out a skirt the wrong way. As in, I folded the fabric width-wise instead of lengthwise. At the rate I'm going, I'll be able to get rid of my furniture and cover my house in pillows made from skirts I've botched.
-
Two of my sewing-skilled friends hauled me to fabric stores today. I have enough fabric to make ill-fitting skirts to get me through the rest of my life.

Only because A.M. came out when you were, what, five years old? I think we can let that slide.

You win for most ridiculous post in a ridiculous thread, and I won for stupidest post in the stupidest thread. I knew I was gonna like you!
