I am completely intrigued. Especially after hearing this Beatles cover.

Guess I'm not too up on my Hawks history. I was thinking that he left as a free agent.

I think there's some bitterness there about JR leaving the Hawks.

Hendrix was the touring guitar player for the Isley Brothers for a while before going off to England and forming The Experience.

I always considered Jeff the Paul to Jay's John in UT, or the Grant to Jay's Bob. Jay certainly took the lead, but Jeff was by no means a sideman, IMO.

It's been so long since I've listened to this album, but it's so good.

Not a sideman in UT. He sang and wrote a good portion of the songs, just as Mick Jones was NOT a sideman in The Clash (who somebody mentioned earlier), but wrote and sang a good portion of their tunes.
