  2. I think that I'm having the hardest time with "Thank You Friends", surprisingly enough.
  3. Yeah, so I'm playing, too. But if you could pick only one show, I would prefer you come to see me at a later one that I have scheduled for January. Still, I think that this one will be fun: It's the first one since his death earlier this year and I'm trying to learn new songs now from both Bg Star and the Box Tops. These are the songs that I'll be playing (if I can learn them all, that is): • The Ballad of El Goodo • Thank You Friends • The Letter • Downs That last one could be a lot of fun. It's a pretty fucked up tune that I think I can have a lot of fun with. The others, hope I just
  4. Absloutely. It would have a lot more cred (if they could regain any of what they've lost over the last 30 years), if they would just break their list out by genre/style of music: 10 best Hard Rock releases 10 best R&B/Hip-Hop releases 10 best Country releases 10 best Indie Rock releases etc. That way at least it puts the demographic pandering in perspective.
  5. Yes there are, but it would be darn near impossible not to have some very good albums on just about any "Best of 2010" list. It was a very good year. My statement was more a commentary on the nature of Rolling Stone these days, in general.

  15. TOOTS! Toots will always bring a smile to my face. But this is my Toots jam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB-DgI7wM1Y I'll post a couple more (non-Toots) tunes when the board allows me to.
  16. Never got to see the Cubbies win one. And definitely, most definitely, should have been in the H.O.F. before he died. Rest in peace, Ronnie. Now everyone click their heels in honor of number 10. Just one time.
  17. I don't know that I've heard enough new music to really make a comprehensive list. But, of the albums that I have heard, here are my (tentative) rankings: 1.
