Hilarious synopsis of Gin and Juice
PopTodd replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Someone Else's Song
Reminds me of when Steve Allen (was it Steve Allen?) recited the lyrics to "Tutti Fruiti" as if it were poetry. I was looking for the video of that, but cannot find it. Anyone? -

This is fucking brilliant. -
While it is about being a parent, and talking to your kid (directly), i'm not sure if, thematically, it's what you're looking for. But also, anything from P.M. Dawn's Dearest Christian, I'm So Very Sorry For Bringing You Here. Love, Dad would qualify... technically. Also, check PMs.

Taking my oldest to see the Black-Eyed Peas on Friday and am wondering how much I'll have to shell out for a t-shirt at the show. I'm thinking that if it's any more than $30, there is no damn way. Any clues for the big shows like this?
-
Yeah, I've done all that. It used to be, however, that there was a slider that you could use to control the likelihood of hearing an artist repeated: "more likely" to "least likely". I think that control is now gone. I wish that it weren't; that's what I'm looking for.
-
Before I had a new OS installed in my Mac, I had my iTunes set to randomize my songs by artist... making it least likely for any songs by the same artist to be repeated. But, since that new installation, not only am I getting a lot more repeats, but I am having a hard time finding the randomization controls on the new iTunes control. A little help? Thanks.

iTunes on "Random."

Harrison = one of my favorite songwriters of all time, and his best material is definitely equal to that of his more-prolific counterparts. So, yeah, I can see that analogy. We just disagree on this matter of degrees.

Colin is often sorely overlooked for the more-prolific Andy. But, fact is, that Colin is every bit the brilliant songwriter and musician as Mr. Partridge. And, to prove it, I am attaching this link to a mix of nothing but songs that Colin wrote. SURPRISE! http://www.mediafire.com/?n1ymfmzqjmy/ 01. Vanishing Girl - Psonic Psunspot 02. Grass - Skylarking 03. Generals And Majors - Black Sea 04. What In The World?? - 25 O'Clock 05. The Meeting Place - Skylarking 06. Making Plans For Nigel - Drums And Wires 07. Life Begins At The Hop - Drums And Wires 08. Runaways - English Settlement 09.

just arrived: Probably my favorite Parliament album, just because it's so all-over-the-place. Love it!
-
I listened to your new album online, and downloaded it. It sounds great. I guess that the only reason that I am charging anything at all it to try to recoup my production costs, as the value of recorded music, in the eyes of the listening public, has sunk to pretty much nil. Maybe I'll make the record available for free download at some point. (Hell, it's already available at the torrent sites... which I consider a compliment.) I do just want to be heard.
-
Listening to the stream and, after the first two songs, I am loving it. Downloading now!

Maybe the greatest trumpet player who ever lived. His solo on Art Blakey's "Moanin'" is one of the greatest things I've ever heard -- especially those first four notes; the make my whole body clench (In a good way). And I make that Bill Cosby scrunchy face, too... completely involuntarily. So damn geat.

This topic came up elsewhere for me, so, just because: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npNmAnZTrHc&feature=PlayList&p=7F36DD1AE0DD572A&playnext=1&index=80
