I just bought this album off of Amazon: I have several tracks from him on the two Rabbit Factory "Birmingham Sound" collections (including a demo version of "I've Been Lonely For So Long"), and his tunes are consistently the best things on there... either the ones that he sings, or his tunes that are sung by others. This is just too damn good.

How about Scruffy the Cat ? I liked them.

Saw this one with the kids at the Gene Siskel Film Center yesterday: The Secret of Kells Better description than I could have written. Anyway, it is a gorgeous movie, that is well-worth seeing. Excellent for children, ages 7+, but younger kids may be scared by some of the images. The look of the movies is obviously influenced by the style of illustration that is central to the story, but the storytelling style is fantastical and whimsical in the same way as a Miyazaki movie. Both boys instantly proclaimed it among their favorite movies of all-time. ("Even better than The Matrix!")

90's nostalgia: It just feels too soon. But then, it has been 20 years since 1990. Damn. Topic at hand: never liked much of the radio pop with the following exceptions: James - Laid Blur Oasis Oh, and I saw Goo Goo Dolls. But, it's not like that! I saw them when they were still a punk band, just after Hold Me Up came out. And that one, my friends, is a great, overlooked album! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojMgn8UwUAQ

That's what piqued my attention, too. But you can really only hear him on a couple of songs. Still, the songs, themselves are a lot of fun and their voices... great stuff.

RUBBER SOUL: "The Word", "Run For Your Life" REVOLVER: "Yellow Submarine" Not that both of those albums aren't among my all-time favorites, but above-mentioned songs destroy each album's "perfection."

Not a big fan of Rush, but I respect the hell out of them as musicians. (How could you not?) And, by all accounts, they appear to be cool guys who I would like to hang out with.

I don't doubt it. But it's still silly. Silly is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is, nonetheless, silly.

Now, that's just silly.
