Yeah, we all know that we have several folks on the boards here who make music. So, who are you, and where are you based? And, then, how far would you be willing to (realistically and imminently) travel to play a show with some other VC folks? I know that we have a fairly large Midwest US contingency, so I'm gonna try to make one happen in Chicago, if some of the rest of you want to try to make it happen where you are. So, me: Hop On Pop Based in Chicago and, realistically, that is about as far as I am willing to travel. (Although, if there are StLouis folks on here, give me a holler, if

Let's just book a ViaChicago band show, ourselves. Everybody, all-together, now. I am going to start a thread (surprise!) where all band folks post where they are based. We will then attempt to book VC shows in cities all over the US. Let's see if we can pull this off. Link to thread HERE.

I may have been, but cannot remember for sure. Maybe once, when I was in college or something. This does, indeed, suck. And it's further evidence that many "talent buyers" are genuine pieces of shit.

Honestly, I saw one of these Eccentric Soul compilations at Half Price Books this weekend, and considered it for a couple of minutes. But I, sadly, did not pull the trigger. After reading this thread, I am kicking myself. Thanks for pointing this one out to me, Louie. I will try to get back to that store sometime this week and, hopefully, be able to pick it up. If somebody else hasn't done so already.

Nor have I bought an Elton or Leon LP in about 25 years or so. (But they were already in the bargain bins at that point.) Still, I gotta say that I do like this song. And, I will check out the Numero Group thread. Thanks to our wonderful search function, would you mind posting a hyperlink to that one here? Let's broaden this discussion.

Good music is good music. And, like I said, I do like this single. Have you heard it? What do you think, timetables aside?

Saw Scott Pilgrim last night. It was awesome. Nearly impossible to describe, but a helluva lot of fun. Also, Kieran Culkin was surprisingly great as Scott's leering, slutty gay roommate (and voice of reason). I could see him getting a Supporting Actor nod, if the Academy were to pay attention.

Heard the first single from the Elton John/Leon Russell collab. "If it Wasn't For Bad" (I think that's the name). I liked it a lot. Sounds to me like a return to form to Elton. Take that for what it's worth, but I am going to check out the album. Hope that the rest of it is as good as the single. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKip4r_o4bo Anyway, I thought that this topic was good for it's own thread. Might have enough intersest. Anyone else want to weigh in?

Added "Genocide Eyes". I dug the guitar hook.

Any particular song that you want me to add from the new one? Which one? I will check it out on Tuesday when I get back to work and don't have everyone running all around me at home. Looking forward to hearing it.

Just ordered for 0.99 from Amazon. I'd rather go with "Like New" from a reputable seller. But yeah, it should be on its way soon. Thanks!

This is the first that I've ever really listened to TTT. That was freaking great. I'll have to check out Sons of Soul. Thanks Crow and remphish!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hl4t01OqE5I Just bumped this thread to post this great live video of Raphael on Jools Holland's show. The album totally holds up. So great.

Yup. JY actually lives less than a mile from me. I see him around town quite a bit. Every now and then I'll see the tour bus parked in front of his place and know that the band is going back on tour. Actually, they released a new album just a couple of years ago (that was actually supposed to be pretty good).

Anyone gonna sticky this thing?

Happy (belated) birthday, Jeff. And, as everyone else has stated: thank you.
