Courtesy of Spin.com: http://www.spin.com/articles/exclusive-urge-overkills-first-song-15-years Good news, indeed. Sounds like you would expect them to. I loves me some UO. And (from the little that I know of them, personally) they're good guys, so I hope that they make it back. I'm just bummed that Blackie isn't a part of it all.

I am starting to really dig this band. My musical accompaniment for the day:

Martin Newell - new EPs (and now an LP!) available for DL

Great album. If you have not heard his Cleaners From Venus stuff, do yourself a favor and do it! Golden Cleaners is the "greatest hits"-type collection, and is well-worth pursuing. Also, his last proper solo album: A Summer Tamarind (2006) is pretty great, too, if not quite up to par with ...Englishman. -

A new album just out from his Cleaners From Venus Project! DOWNLOAD LINK HERE Trying to find out if he's selling physical CDs, too. Either way, a new Martin album is always good news! EDIT: Just got an email from Martin: He is selling physical copies, too. Great news! -
Do you care about whats on the setlist when you go to concerts?
PopTodd replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
I always want to hear my favorite songs, of course! As far as bands debuting new material: I'm lukewarm on that. On the one hand, I am excited to hear what they've got coming next. On the other hand, I wanna hear the songs that I already know and love. -

Just heard the John/Russell song on the radio at lunch a couple of minutes ago. I thought that, with all these people whose opinions I respect not digging it, that I would see the true nature of its not-goodness, too. Sorry. It's still good. I still like it.

Hot Wax just arrived. Giving it a first listen today. Okay, first listen: Solid. Obvious highlights include "You're the Reflection of the Moon On the Water" (beautiful lyric) and "I Knew All About You Since Then" (bitter and catchy). Overall, not as great as his last one -- Good News For Modern Man -- but certainly not a throwaway. It'll take a couple of listens to fully sink in. But I am liking it. No regrets.

Listening to this now: I'm thinking that it'll be time for some Jameson's when I get home tonight!

The Pogues - A PAIR OF BROWN EYES One summer evening drunk to hell I stood there nearly lifeless An old man in the corner sang Where the water lilies grow And on the jukebox Johnny sang About a thing called love And it's how are you kid and what's your name And how would you bloody know? In blood and death 'neath a screaming sky I lay down on the ground And the arms and legs of other men Were scattered all around Some cursed, some prayed, some prayed then cursed Then prayed and bled some more And the only thing that I could see Was a pair of brown eyes that was looking at me But when we got

It's a Jewish thing. You wouldn't understand. ("Shana Tova" is Hebrew for "Happy New Year", the rest of the nonsense that caveman guy is blabbering about is all in Hebrew, as well. I couldn't understand much, except something about "blessed". And then Kermit speaks Chinese.)

I Might as well have some gear geek topics too..

Or maybe, just an EQ pedal. Allow you to tweak the tone (add a little treble to cut) and boost the signal. -
I have to be careful not to listen to Nilsson every damn day. I don't want him to wear out his magic (if that is possible). But, thanks, I have "She Sang Hymns Out of Tune" in my head, now. EDIT: I am actually listening to My Morning Jacket, and can hear them doing a great version of that. Hopefully they will.

And, also to those of you who are not a member of the Tribe. May it be happy, healthy, and properous. And, even a little perposterous: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZLq_JB8H44&feature=player_embedded
